The Chromebooks I would like for my classroom would be used everyday by almost every student in my classroom. I can see many benefits of these in my classroom. They will be used to help move along my vision that every student can make significant achievement throughout the school year. I have found students are more engaged in learning they direct themselves. Chromebooks would allow them to do this. Students can extend the learning we do in class by researching topics of interest to them. They can also use the multmedia components to create visually appealing projects that demonstrate their learning and creativity. Chromebooks will help my students who are below grade level by allowing them to use the LEXIA program our school has purchased to help students fill in the missing gaps in their reading and language arts skills. It will also allow them to use visual math manipulative programs to help their number sense especially in fractions and decimals (which is the focus of 5th grade math). They would be used by my above grade level students to do research projects to help extend their knowledge of the social studies and science concepts we are learning in class. They will use them not only to learn more about what we are learning in class, but also to find areas of interest to themselves. As you can see, Chromebooks will help support the learning of every child in my classroom.
