  • Achievement Rewards

    Funded Nov 21, 2024

Thank you for your thoughtful donations to my Achievement Rewards. Students started the new year with a friendly grade level competition to see which class in each grade level could earn the most points on a specific math computer program. Each week the class totals were graphed and displayed in front of the cafeteria for the entire school community to see.

The chatter among the students about which class had more points and which class took the lead each week brought smiles to staff members.

At the end of the month, students in each winning class received a prize.

As a school community we are excited to continue this friendly competition so that other students will have an opportunity to choose a prize for working hard and showing growth.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

  • Building Geometry

    Funded Nov 15, 2024

I can not thank you enough for funding this project for Geo Stix. These math tools will aide instruction in so many ways. We will be using the Geo Stix in our geometry unit. During our geometry unit, we will be able to build plane figures while discussing the properties of plane figures. These Geo Stix allow us to learn the vocabulary that is associated with geometry while comparing and contrasting plane figures. In addition, we will be able to use the Geo Stix to build and measure angles.

Students are engaged in a lesson and unit when they are able to build and touch items that allow them to see what they are learning. This math tool will definitely keep the students engaged in learning while applying real world context.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

  • Headphones for Everyone!

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you for your generous donation to my project Headphones for Everyone! My little Dragons will SOAR with their individual headphones. Students will be able to complete their independent assignments without distraction from sounds of other computers.

Students having their headphones have allowed them to practice at their pace and learn skills that are personally needed. As a result, end of the year scores have increased.

Thank you again for contributing to this project so every student can have headphones.”

  • Headphones for Everyone

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you so much for your support of my classroom and students. My fourth and fifth graders are so excited to have their own sets of headphones to use in class. With your generous donation of headphones, students are engaged on the programs that they are using in math and reading thus, improving grades.

Teaching has become such a difficult and costly profession due to lack of funding, your continued support impacts the lives of our students each and every day.

Thank you for your commitment to our students.”

  • Show and Tell

    Funded Oct 30, 2023

Thank you so much for the amazing supplies you provided for my classes. Students are actively engaged in creating anchor charts of content information to hang up in the classroom. Not only do students get to see their own work hung up in the class room, creating anchor charts allows collaboration for students to review the material being learning in class. Students are using the anchor charts to refer to as they complete classwork and build on knowledge.

My students are so grateful for the dry erase markers that allow us to cut down on paper copies but still share work. Students enjoy "teaching" and sharing their thought processes with other students as they write on white boards and white board tables.

Thank you so much for your generous donation of chart paper and variety of markers that allow my students to engage in learning and enjoy coming to school.”

    With gratitude,

  • No Dropped Masks

    Funded Oct 12, 2020

Thank you so much for your kind donations to make "No Masks Dropped" successful. Upon face to face return to the school building, students were excited to see friends and teachers and return to normal school routines. A school routine is eating lunch. Having lanyards attached to masks helps keep masks off of the floor, out of the trashcan, and from being forgotten to be put back on. Students have their masks conveniently around their necks as they eat and get a sip of water throughout the day. Given the need to keep things clean and sanitized, knowing masks were less likely to drop on the floor because of lanyards was a tiny bit less that students had to think about.

    Thank you for your support.”

  • Storage for Soaring!

    Funded Jun 5, 2023

Having storage totes in the classroom to keep the curriculum materials organized has helped students in the classroom tremendously. Clear storage containers allow teachers and students to easily and quickly find the materials needed for the current learning experience. Students are also learning organization skills by being an active participant in getting and putting the materials back into the appropriate storage containers when we are finished using them.

Having storage containers allows our classroom to have our materials and supplies in one location instead of all over. Having materials in one location allows for more space in the classroom for students to work in cooperative groups to interact with one another, share ideas about curriculum, and learn from one another.

We are grateful for your donations so that we can have a student centered rich classroom.”

At the elementary school age, numbers are abstract and hard for kids to conceptualize. Once students move past digits in the hundreds place, the number just becomes a procedure and number values are increasingly difficult for students to visualize. With interlocking base 10 blocks, students will have a physical and visual impression of what comes after a hundred, thousand, ten thousand, and hundred thousand. Being able to represent large numbers with models will allow the students to have an understanding of how large numbers can be with emphasis on the base 10. Seeing a physical representation of a hundred thousand will build confidence in students to want to dig deeper into mathematics and become more confident in math!
