  • Terrific Teletherapy!

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Words could never adequately express how appreciative I am for your donations that enabled me to receive my MacBook Pro laptop. The impact that it has had in my ability to work with my speech and language students is immeasurable.

With this laptop, I am able to use multiple learning programs simultaneously without any lagging issues. I am also able to stream videos pertaining to the lessons that I am teaching without any audio or video complications. Many of my students have difficulties with processing information. Being able to eliminate any factors related to technology that would further contribute to their processing difficulties is extremely important. It also helps to reduce their frustration while learning.

My students have been thrilled with being able to actively participate in my lessons. I am now able to give them screen control, which I was unable to do prior to having this laptop. This active participation enables them to be much more engaged in the lessons and with their learning. For my students working on receptive and expressive language skills, I have been able to use various online materials that have been instrumental in helping them work towards their language goals. I have also been able to easily create and share my own materials for my students to work on. For my students working on their articulation skills, I have been able to use online resources as well as screen share my personal materials with ease, and have been successful in helping them progress towards meeting their speech goals. Additionally, I work with many students using a Orton-Gillingham based program targeting reading, writing, and comprehension called Preventing Academic Failure. Having the ability to continue to use this program with my students, who are not receiving any other type of intervention of this kind, is incredibly important to their academic success. As you can see, you have not only made the teletherapy experience more seamless for me, but you have also tremendously impacted the lives of my students.

I am so incredibly grateful for your generosity. Thank you so very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Levy

  • Office Supplies to Protect and Serve My Students!

    Funded Mar 29, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Crazy as it may sound, your generosity in providing me with a shredder and printer has made me a very happy speech therapist! The shredder has come in extremely handy. I can now easily dispose of papers with my prior students' personal information with ease.

The printer has been a life saver in moments where a quick copy had to be made. It is so wonderful to have this at my disposal. My students have benefited from my being able to quickly provide them with tools they can use to help them with tasks in therapy and in their classrooms.

Your generosity is so greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support and thoughtfulness.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Levy

  • Learning Is A Treasure That Will Follow Its Owner Everywhere

    Funded Aug 28, 2013

I would like to start out by thanking you all from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and generosity. Due to your wonderful donations, I have started off the school year with wonderful new materials that my students are so excited to use each time they come to speech and language therapy.

The resources you have provided my students and me have helped to create a fun environment for learning during my speech and language therapy sessions. The comprehension books that were a part of this project provide engaging and entertaining content that my students can't wait to read and talk about. The phonemic/phonological awareness games and books you have graciously helped me to receive have significantly improved my students abilities. The computer programs are extremely interactive and my students have a great time using them.

Without your help, I never would have been able to obtain these materials. Words cannot fully express my appreciation. Thank you very much.”

    With gratitude,

  • The Limits Of My Language Means The Limits Of My World

    Funded Dec 31, 2012

Thank you very much for the materials you have provided for my students. They are having so much fun learning and developing their skills. Your generosity has really impacted many children's lives. It is so exciting for me when my students ask to play the learning games because they are eager to play and learn. Not only do I get to see the enjoyment in their faces but I also get to see the progress they are making by using the materials.

Every time my students enter my room, the first thing they ask is if they can play one of the games from the group of games I received through Donor's Choose. It is amazing to see them eager to play these educational games and see the gains they make by using the materials you have provided.

Again, I can't thank you enough for your kindness and support. It means more than you will ever know.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Levy

  • Help Kids Express Themselves (and Understand What Others Say)!

    Funded Jul 28, 2011

Thank you so much for donating to my project. You generosity was greatly appreciated. The materials I received to work with my students in speech and language therapy have made an amazing impact on them. The materials have not only provided great learning experiences for my students but also an incredibly fun way to go about doing so. Without your support, I likely would not have been able to get half of the materials that you have provided for my speech and language students.

I can't express how thankful I am for the gift you have given...the gift of enjoyable learning!

    Thank you very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Levy

I work in an environment where the children come from very little and many of them hardly speak any English. This school is the students' portal to the world beyond Chinatown. Most of their home environments usually do not provide experiences beyond the borders of their small community. All of my projects aim to facilitate the growth of my students' speech and language skills by providing them with materials that will give them a fun yet productive way to improve their receptive and expressive language skills.
