Carmen High School of Science and Technology, Southeast campus, is a college prepatory school with a STEM focused curriculum. The Carmen mission is to graduate all students as critical thinkers and self-directed learners prepared for success in college, meaningful careers, community involvement and family life. The school opened in August 2016 as a non-instrumentality charter high school authorized by Milwaukee Public Schools. Enrollment in our first year is 170 9th graders. The Southeast campus draws students from all over Milwaukee but many live in or near the 53215 zip code on the city's South side. Demographics for 2016-2017 are 90% Hispanic and 10% other. 92% of students qualify for the federal free or reduced lunch program. The vast majority of Carmen students will be the first in their families to graduate from high school.
