I want to take this opportunity to send my thanks for your kind contribution. I am so incredibly excited to receive these wonderful leveled reading books and phonics activities for my class. • First Grade Safe Return to School!

    Funded Jul 31, 2020

Thanks to my wonderful donors and Donors Choose, I have been able to purchase items to help make this year both safer for my students and help them if they are quarantined at home due to to the world-wide pandemic. The kids are so excited to have math manipulatives that are in their desk just for them to use. They also have enjoyed the tote bags filled with tools to help them when at home. Their desks are designed to be self contained so that only the student only touch the things that are assigned to them. Having these items also helps me to teach them to be responsible and care for their own things. Thank you donors for helping to make this very different year better for my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ware

  • At Home Learning Kits and Homework Helper

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Thank you for helping to fund our project! It will help my students in so many ways! It will also help provide equity for all my students should the need arise to go to an At Home Learning model due to Covid 19. These kits will give them many tools to make their learning more concrete. You Rock!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ware

  • Sparking the Minds of Future Scientists!

    Funded Nov 1, 2017

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Donors Choose Project! We have been learning about animal classifications and adaptations. This week we are beginning our unit on living and non-living things.

The students were so excited when we received our science folders, books, and games to help enrich our first-grade science units. We didn't have a lot of science resources available, so this has been a great addition to our classroom.

Of all the things we learn in class. The students get so excited when science is on the schedule. Because we have so much more than we had before, we have been doing our science lessons more frequently than in the past. We just finished studying animal classification and adaptations which included doing an animal report and project. The kids' projects turned out fantastic. They were so excited to share their hard work! This week we will be exploring characteristics of living and non-living things. Our new science materials include lots of activities to enrich this unit.

Thank you again for contributing to our project. You are helping to spark the curiosity and imaginations of my awesome first grade students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ware

My first graders are curious and love hands-on activities. I have noticed on days that we do science, my students always comment that, "Today is the best day of my life." Our class would love some fun science books, presentations, and hands-on activities that will help us get even more excited about the science that can be found in the world around us. The lower-grades in our school do not currently have an adopted curriculum from which to teach. Having more materials available would help me, as the teacher, to spark the scientist in each of my students and help them develop more appreciation for the world around them.
