  • Comfort Creates Creativity

    Funded Sep 11, 2024

Students were excited when they first saw the cushions. These cushions are making my classroom feel more relaxed and flexible, which is helping students focus more. They can choose where to sit, allowing a more comfortable and inclusive atmosphere. Also, the idea of being able to sit in a way that's more comfortable or natural is helping them feel more at ease, making it easier to focus on learning.

The new chair cushions are enhancing our learning experiences! We are using the cushions for collaborative projects, comfort and flexibility as well as flexible seating.

During "storytelling circle" students sit on their cushions in a relaxed arrangement, allowing them to listen and work together to listen and build a story. The comfort of the cushions help students feel less anxious. The flexibility of the seating allows students to sit cross-legged, kneeling, or even lying down if the classroom space allows for it.

The cushions are great for small-group work. Instead of staying at their desks, students form groups and work on hands-on projects while sitting comfortably in a circle. This fosters creativity and collaboration without the formality of sitting in rows or at desks.

These cushions are encouraging more active participation and collaboration.”

  • Notebooks for Noteworthy students

    Funded Aug 24, 2024

In my classroom, organization is a priority. I keep my desk and materials organized and I expect my students to keep their things organized, too. I truly believe it is the key to success. That's why every student uses a binder to keep their papers organized instead of at the bottom of their backpack.

These binders you donated toward are wonderful! They are incredibly sturdy and very good quality, while still slim enough to not take up too much room. It is like a mix between a hardback and a soft back, and I think that it is the perfect material.

My students and parents were very appreciative of your generosity.”

  • Owl Eyes On Me

    Funded Sep 5, 2020

During remote learning, my students at home were able to participate with their peers that attended school. This technology helped me create engaging and inclusive learning environments for all my students. The OWL provided clear audio and video, 360-degree coverage, and intelligent sound management, ensuring that every student felt seen and heard, regardless of being in the class or at home. I was able to foster a sense of community and connection in hybrid and distance learning settings while promoting active participation and collaboration among students.”

  • Interactive Notebooks: A Key to Success and Organization

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

My seventh grade students at the Albert N. Parlin School in Everett were able to be more engaged in their learning this year and not just write information down from my notes. They were able to put themselves in the shoes of ancient historians and learn by doing and not just listening and copying. They completed journal entries, foldables, two column notes, and doodle notes. Your generosity has reached over 120 students and because of this, they were also able to use the notebooks in other subjects.”

  • Interactive Notebooks: A Key to Success and Organzation

    Funded Sep 17, 2021

Thank you for helping me provide students with the tools that they need to be successful. These interactive notebooks are a huge part of student engagement, especially when they are learning new concepts. They are leading to creativity and confidence in writing, thanks to you! Having these notebooks has helped them develop not only their skill base but confidence while writing and creative side. Thank you for your help with this. Your support, especially during this time, has been very much appreciated."”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Schiavo

My 7th graders will begin in a Zoom classroom for distance learning. When we meet for instruction, I want them to feel as though they are in school by providing them a full view of my classroom as they learn remotely from home. The Meeting Owl Pro is a 360 degree camera, mic, and speaker system that will allow me to step away from the computer and let me teach as though the students are sitting right in front of me. It's ability to track my voice and move to my location will engage the students. When we are able to safely transition into the hybrid model (half the class at home and the other half in the classroom) this will allow all students to participate and see the instruction happening regardless of where they are learning from.
