  • A Microsoft Surface to Ensure Effective School Counseling

    Words cannot fully express how grateful I am for your donations. My comprehensive counseling program has greatly improved because of my new Microsoft Surface that you all provided me. I am constantly using the surface for paperwork, to plan and implement lesson plans and for individual and group counseling sessions. I now have an easy way to track student academic progress and ensure they are on track to graduate. When I go into classrooms for guidance lessons, I am easily able to bring the Surface from class to class in order to implement what I planned. Students love to draw and write on the Surface during individual and group counseling sessions. Having a Microsoft Surface has truly transformed my comprehensive counseling program and allowed me to become more efficient and effective at helping students succeed in high school and beyond.”

  • Getting Lost in Good Books

    Funded Oct 20, 2017

    Thank you for your help and support in getting a classroom library full of high interest books for my students! We use these books for silent and partner reading. These books have made an immense impact on the enjoyment of learning in the class. In the beginning of the year, my students struggled finding a book they thought was interesting. Furthermore, many of my students never wanted to read. With this new library, every student in my class has been able to find at least one new favorite book and it has exponentially increased their interest and desire to read. Before, I struggled to get my students to read at all, now I struggle to get them to stop. It has truly transformed my students into avid readers who love to get lost in the books they are reading!”

I am a new high school counselor and my yearly goals include supporting every student emotionally, socially and academically in order to facilitate their success in school and beyond. I also aim to increase career and college readiness. In order to to this I will meet with students in groups, individually and also teach lessons in the classroom. Additionally, I will meet with parents/guardians and provide college and career workshops in order to not only keep parents/guardians informed but also show them how to support their students through high school.

About my class
