  • Eating and Cleaning

    Funded Mar 1, 2024

My students and I have been using the vacuum cleaner that was graciously donated to us to keep our beautiful new classroom clean everyday. My students cannot wait to clean up the classroom each day. Also, the snacks were eaten everyday by students who came to school hungry. So on behalf of my students and I, we would like to thank all of our donors for helping us fund this project, "Eating and Cleaning." I will never forget your kindness and generosity that was bestowed on my students and I to keep my classroom cleaned and my students fed!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. S.

  • Playful Playground Equipment

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

My students were so excited to learn that they were getting new sport equipments (basketball, soccer balls, football, jumpropes, and more).

They cannot wait to go outside and play. My female students also want to play with the basketball and soccer balls. They were just as excited as my male students I enjoy seeing the smile on their faces everytime we go outside.

So on behalf of my students and I, we want to thank you and the DonorsChoose Community from the bottom of our hearts. We appreciate all the sports materials and everything else that were donated to us.”

My students and I would like to thank you for gifting us books for our class library. My students love reading and the look on their faces when we opened the boxes of books howed just how much. They were so surprised and could not believe that there are wonderful people like you in this world willing to donate their own money to buy them book. So on behalf of my students and I, I would like to thank you so much for your generous donation. Without kind people like you, my students would not have a love for book like they do now. • Listen While You Work!

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for thr generosity that you bestowed on my students and I. My students are super excited for their brand new headphones. These headphones are immediately ready and available for students use. Before your donations, students weren't turning the volume low and putting their heads close to the computer to hear their lesson. Now that we gave these beautiful headphones, students can now work on their lessons without disturbing others. My students and I would like to extend our sincere gratitude for your donation to our project. We couldn't do it without you!”

  • Food for Thought!

    Funded Nov 18, 2019

Thank you so much for funding this project. My students and I are so appreciative of all the delicious snacks that were given to them. The excitement of seeing so much food that they will be able to enjoy anytime is all that they could talk about. I can now have food ready when my students are hungry, miss breakfast, or don't get enough to eat. My students couldn't believe that someone just donated all of this food without requiring any form of payment. When I shared that the only form of payment required was a thank-you note, they were so excited. They wanted to write to you right away. They are so thankful and grateful for all that you have bestowed upon them. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you and am so happy that there are so many generous and kind people in the world who are so giving.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. S.

  • Hungry Minds for Hungry Souls

    Funded Feb 5, 2019

It is truly amazing what you have done for my students. Funding my project, "Hungry Minds for Hungry Souls," could not have come at a better time. Toward the end of the school year, this is the time that most of my students are coming to school without the necessary resources that they need to make it through the day. One thing that they will not have to worry about anymore is being hungry.

When the chosen items started to arrive, you should have seen the happiness on my students' faces and the sparkles in their eyes. One of my students raised his hand and ask, "Ms. Stevens are those for us." I was delighted to informed them that yes, all of these delicious, nutritional snacks are for you and everyone else to enjoy. The first thing they chose were the hot chips. Those things are a hit by all students in my class.

I am very appreciative of what you have done for my students. Now, whenever one of my students isn't have a good day because he/she didn't eat breakfast, I can offer him/her a healthy snack. I can also offer my students working snacks. No matter when they receive a snack, I can say that my students and I are truly blessed to have amazing donors like you. Thanks for all that you do by helping make wishes come true for teachers like me.”

  • Award Winning Technology

    Funded Oct 24, 2018

My students and I would like to say thank you for donating this Acer Computer to our classroom. It has made a significant impact in our classroom. My students are now able to take A.R. test and research information for school projects. Also, I am now able to have a computer to input student's grades. The screen on this computer is very large and my students get so excited everytime they get a chance to use it. Everytime my students and I use this gift, we will be reminded that because of amazing people like you, we are very blessed. Thanks again on behalf of my students and I.”

  • Reading Readiness for the Eager Learner

    Funded Oct 30, 2017

I like to interview my students about what interest them. Then I have them select books based on their interest. I also have them use the four finger test. They have to open their book and start reading. Within the first few pages, they will raise one finger for each word they don't know. If they raise four fingers within those few pages, the book is too hard and they have to read another one.

Since I teach at an emerging school, student read in between lessons and for 20 minutes each night.

My students are really touched by your kindness and generosity. They could not believe that all we had to do is ask for the resources that we needed and you would be so kind as to grant us our wish. They are definitely enjoying the new books that we have received. Some of my students hated reading, but now more students than ever before are reaching their A.R. goals and reading levels have improved. Thanks again donors for granting our wish and making our dreams come true.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. S.

I teach 5th grade ELA and SS to students who mostly come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds where resources are slim to none. Our school is a Title 1 school and every student meet the recommendations for free lunch. Most of my students are also raised in a single parent household which means that most of my students are either raising themselves or helping to raise some of their siblings while their parents go to work to make ends meet. Although my students lacks the skills and resources needed to be successful, my students are strong willed and they work hard every day to overcome any obstacle that they are faced with. They are happy, and full of life. My students are excited about learning new things each day. My students rarely ask for anything and they are very grateful and appreciative of anything that is given to them. My students are my pride and joy. They make everyday that I come to work enjoyable.
