My class is requesting a rug for our classroom to use during our story time, calendar, friendship circle and whole group lessons. My students need a cozy carpet to invite them to learn. We spend a great time of our day on the floor and my students would love to have a comfy space of their own while they take on the learning challenges of kindergarten. I am constantly hearing "He's not on his tape." "She's touching me." Having this classroom rug will allow my students to stay focused on their learning instead of worrying about where and what they are sitting on.
Minimizing distractions and increasing their focus is optimal for helping them learn and grow.
