Our school is part of the AP for All program of the New York City Department of Education. Research shows that students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to graduate college on time and the gains are greatest for low-income students and students of color. Two of the AP courses at WHEELS are AP Seminar and AP Research. Our AP Research class is an high school course developing college-level independent research skills. Without a laptop for each student, access to things such as the internet, research materials, and research articles severely limits the research process. One laptop for each student is a necessity. We currently don't have enough for each senior.
