Eighty-eight percent of our students are eligible for free or reduced school lunch. Our school provides the majority of school supplies. All teachers at my school strive to provide all the necessary materials that students need to succeed. We work in small groups and use markers to create posters, combine and sort our ideas with sticky notes, and keep track of our personal thoughts and learning in our interactive notebooks. All of our learning starts with a pencil!
My budget for science is usually ~$500 for the year. When considering consumables, that doesn't go very far. I try to save most of my money for hands on lab activities. With the help from generous donors, I know I can provide memorable experiences that will connect students to their natural environment.
