I am asking for one laptop so I can incorporate more technology into my classroom. My students complete science stations for each objective taught in class. The laptop will be used for the research station. During the research station using the internet students research current events related to the objective being taught in class. This is important because it will help students make real world connections with the content and increase mastery and retention. The laptop will also be used for the watch it station where students will watch a video on lesson being taught. Watching a video about content is important because students who are visual learners are able to connect to the content more. For every objective taught my students are required to create project based on the objective to show that they have mastered the content. My students will use the laptop and Microsoft office to create powerpoint and research papers show they have mastered the content. My students also need a case and laptop bag to decrease the chance of the laptop breaking. It is important that the laptop stays in tiptop shape because it will become a vital piece to student engagement and student mastery in my class.
