Reading for Comprehension!
Funded Jan 25, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donation. These books were used in a variety of ways. One way they were used was to have pages photo copied and students rotate around the room practicing a particular reading skill that we are working on for that day. The books and activity are a big hit in the class. Another way the books are used during small group instruction. I able to pull a small group , do a read aloud and then focus on a reading skill that the students need support it. All this is possible because of you. Thank you!”

Current Events!
Funded Jan 25, 2023My students absolutely loved Times for Kids. It is such a great additional resource that is used in our classroom and is used across more than one content area. One if our lessons were text and graphic features and these materials were a great way for students to get more exposure. They were engaged in the lesson and had a wonderful time collaborating in their group.
They often times read independently and then share with their group what information they gained through these non-fiction texts. It is a great talking piece amongst students.
All my students were excited for this resource and each time we use it, they ask, "when will we use it again".”

W.I.N Centers
Funded Feb 21, 2023Thank you so much for your wonderful contribution to our classroom. The students enjoyed using these resources. It is because of donors like you that makes projects like this possible. Students got to work in group and collaborate during the W.I.N period. When they seen the materials that were donated they were not only excited, but also eager to use them. Some kids even said "wow, that's so cool! "I loved seeing the excitement on their face and hearing the excitement in their voices. We plan on continuing to use all of the donated resources for the reminder of this school year and school years to come.”

Funded Sep 29, 2022My students have had such a great time creating projects with the resources that you have donated. We have used the resources to illustrate images for our writing pieces to painting relief maps of continents that we researched in class.
My students were so excited to be able to create freely without having to worry where they would find the supplies. I was so happy that my students had what they needed We will continue using the supplies for future projects : ) Thank you again for your very generous donation.”

Funded Aug 24, 2018The students were so excited when I had shown them the legos that you generously donated to our classroom. They were very eager to start using them. I explained to the class that with the set of legos that arrived we will be using them to build structures of different sorts. We took a neighborhood walk with the students and looked at all the various structures that are around our school. Some of the structures that we looked at were our school, the public library, grocery stores and homes. When we went back into the classroom, the students were asked to re create some of the structures that they had seen. Students will continue to be engaged with Stem lessons through the use of legos.”

Funded Jan 25, 2018Thank you once again for making such a big difference in my first grade classroom. Students are excelling in reading due to the index card sight word books that I have made them because of your donation. They enjoy working with a partner as well as working on their own to practice their sight words. It has not only made a difference in their reading, but their writing as well. My students also very much enjoy using the white board during small group instruction for not only phonics but also for math. Without your donation many things that we are doing with the resources that you have funded would not be possible.”
