Indoor and Outdoor Learning Tools!
Funded May 6, 2019This project has helped us use our donated supplies in many ways. We appreciate the supplies that have made such a difference in our classroom. We love learning with them.
For instance, the Bose speaker has given students access to music and movement during outdoor and indoor centers rotations. The students enjoy listening to their favorite educational songs such as "Number Rock", and are able to use the outdoor area to dance, jump, and exercise while listening to their favorite tunes. In the indoor area, they enjoy listening to classical music as they learn and play.
The sensory table has given students access to learn through play and explore activities such as water and sand. The students express excitement when engaged at the table.
Lastly, the printer has helped expand our resources. During table top activities printed documents are used as parts of craft projects such as name cards and labeling. It has been such a treat to gain these resources in our classroom.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Google.org and 4 other donors.Pre-k Sped Technology and Sensory Fun!
Funded Aug 21, 2018I would like to say thank you for the donations you have contributed! The students are beyond thrilled to have their new supplies and are using them daily. I have a few students who enjoy listening to read-aloud stories and viewing the story through the iPad. The students show great excitement singing along to nursery rhymes and identifying characters from story time. The iPad has made our library center a preferred area to learn a play. The iPad also gives my students with speech or language impairments and autism the opportunity to participate interactively during read-aloud time.
The sensory play sand has also been a popular activity for the students to learn and play with. The students who have autism and specific learning disabilities enjoy the texture of the sand and are able to mold the sand into shapes and figures. The sand has been placed in the art center and is an activity all students request frequently. Throughout the week, students use their imaginations to create sand castles, cars, boats, people, and animals with play sand. The best part about this activity is the communication students engage in about their creations. I enjoy listening to their conversations and asking the students questions about their current sand projects and what their next projects will be.
Lastly, the "Magna-tiles" encourage students to work together during small group time and use their fine motor skills to build objects. The students enjoy identifying colors, shapes, and labeling what they are working on. Some students build planes, while others build houses. The best part about this activity is the never ending possibilities of building with "Magna-tiles". This activity is truly a great activity for preschool-age students. On behalf of my students and I, we are appreciative of our new supplies.”
