Students have been creating art inspired by various styles, movements, cultures and feelings and have been making connections between art and other subjects such as science and history. Last year, middle school art students created paintings and drawing reflecting STEAM themes from science and math. From symmetrical patterns to astronomy inspired paintings, students drew inspiration from other subjects which were emphasized through their art. This year, middle school students will create an acrylic painting inspired by a math, science or history theme they have studied in school. Finding the beauty and connection between art and other subjects helps the students understand their lessons on a deeper level while allowing for self-expression. The art will be displayed at the end of the year in a district-wide art show.
