My students need Chromebooks to be able to gain mastery in core subjects integrating 21st century skills such as keyboarding, coding, and electronically-submitted projects and assignments. My students will use technology to master Common-Core skills. Technology has a place in the classroom. In my classroom, this place is to aid in the acquisition, application, remediation, and extension of Common-Core-related skills. Technology is a tool used to be able to learn, practice, and enhance those all-important skills that are already being taught in the classroom. In addition, technology is a new skill that is crucial to student success. For example, in our unit of study on heredity and adaptations, my students will be participating in various online assignments and projects. They research their ancestors, and submit a project about them. They also research specific animals and how their bodies are adapted to their environments.
