Alternative Education High School Needs Help Hello, I am a high school science teacher at an alternative public high school. The model of our high school is a Middle College, and is a national format that has been shown to work. Our school motto is "Doing whatever it takes to help students succeed". Our students come from throughout the local county and each student has a unique reason for wanting to be part of Middle College. Most students have not succeeded in their previous schools, do not fit in socially, or have behavior problems. When students come to our school we give them a clean slate and an opportunity to start fresh. One of the great benefits and components of Middle College is that our school is located on a local community college campus. While enrolled in our high school, students are able to take college classes for free.
