Many students with autism struggle to maintain focus in traditional school seating arrangements. Providing alternative options to reach our learning goals is necessary for their growth and development. These chairs will allow the students to successfully participate in sustained reading activities. The beanbag chairs will provide a consistent learning environment that is vital for students on the autism spectrum. A beanbag chair provides a more sensory friendly seating option that allows for movement while still providing needed support. In this alternative seating arrangement I expect a higher level of learning to occur and higher percentage of participation in direct instruction.
