  • Photography as a Vehicle for Expression

    Funded Dec 7, 2011

I want to thank you again for helping fund my project. My journalism students are using the camera to take photos for their articles. We've taken photos of school activities, students and staff and classroom activities.

One of the most important aspects of a school publication is what is called "eye candy", and photography is one example. Having the necessary equipment is helping my students improve the quality of their articles.

Without donors like you, my students would not have the complete journalism experience.

    With much gratitude,

    Mrs. K.”

  • Journey into Journalism

    Funded Sep 8, 2009

This letter is to thank you for your donation to my classroom. The copies of The Elements of Journalism you have provided have helped my students expand their learning of both high school and professional journalism. We have used this book to learn about 1st Amendment rights and restrictions experienced by both professional journalists and high school reporters. Students have also learned about ethical issue journalists face and the importance of always remembering their readers in their pursuit of the truth.

Our school budget was recently cut, so your contribution to my class has been vital. For students who are interested in journalism, this book is vital.

Without donors like you, it would be impossible for me to provide my students with these resources.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kaplan

  • Upgrade Newspaper Software

This letter is to thank you for your donation to my classroom. The resources you have provided have helped my students expand their learning in both literature and journalism. We have used the books to learn about writing observation pieces, some of which were published in the first issue of our newspaper, and to read memoirs in preparation for writing college essays.

Our school budget was recently cut, so your contribution to my class has been vital. For students who are interested in journalism and pursuing advanced coursework, the AP texts are vital.

Without donors like you, it would be impossible for me to provide my students with these resources.

    Thank you,”
