  • Dramatic Play Area Goodies!!

    I cannot thank you enough for your donations to our dramatic play center. The microwave and coffee pot have provided endless amounts of enjoyment for the children to play and interact and make pretend. The dollhouse has been an integral part of their learning, as it impacts their understanding of families and how people live with one another.   • Farmer's Market in the Classroom

    The impact your contributions have had to our classroom has been immeasurable!! This was my very first Donors Choose project and I was not sure if it would even get funded at all. When it was funded, I was so surprised and elated!

    I chose the Farmers Market for its variety of uses in the classroom. It can be used, in the dramatic play area, as a store for pretend play using many different materials. As soon as it was set up, the children, completely, made it their own and took control over it! They set it up, exactly, how they wanted it to be and they play with it everyday! My preschoolers are learning how to share, cooperate, and role play with each other. The Farmers Market is a treasure to have in my preschool classroom!!

Having our very own market stand, in the classroom, would enable the children to role play as if they were at the Farmer's Market, buying and selling produce and wares from fruit and vegetables to flowers. The stand includes real straw baskets, instead of plastic, and the stand can, also, be used as a puppet theatre so that the children can be encouraged to use their imaginations and verbal communication with eachother. With this new piece of furniture added to the drama center, the children will receive much enrichment in areas of math and phonics. Materials can be added to it seasonally.
