STEM Tools for Hands-On Learning
Funded Nov 13, 2024Our students were ecstatic to open the magna tile boxes and could not wait to start building. We had enough tiles for each table to work collaboratively to explore the shapes and build a structure.
During our science centers, groups experimented with the cars and track tiles to create ramps and compare the distance each car traveled. We have introduced the science vocabulary words, momentum and slope. In our next lessons, we investigate the force on an object and use the cars for the experiment. Our young scientists are introduced to these science lessons through trial and error moments which in their eyes, is simply play. We appreciate having the resources to provide these developmentally appropriate opportunities for our students.
Thank you for supporting our classroom and our students' learning.”

Funded May 7, 2024We have benefited from our fan/air purifier during the hot months of June and September. It is an essential item in the classroom to keep the air, dust and allergy free while cooling the students.
Our classroom air is significantly cleaner which is indicated on the sensor and we easily clean the filter to continue running the fan throughout the day.
We are so grateful for your support and for providing a product that contributes to the well being of our class. Our students health and comfort are important for providing an optimum learning environment.”

Funded Sep 20, 2023Our students were so excited to see the new literacy resources. Since learning their letters and sounds, the activities have supported their initial letter sounds skills through hands-on, fun manipulatives. We have students who are reading the Early Reader books provided in the sets.
The resources provide initial letter sound practice through matching letters with corresponding pictures. The students enjoy learning alphabetical order with the magnetic tiles and building words with the letter cards.
We are so excited when we see the students independently reading and writing their CVC words using the cards and visuals.
These resources have supported our students' learning and they are excited to use them every day.”

Funded Sep 29, 2022Our collection of books have made an impact throughout the school year. The diversity of our titles reflects the diversity of the students in our classroom. When they see characters and people who reflect their own images, they are engaged and interested to learn even more.
Our non-fiction titles connected the past to the present for our students. We were able to teach and introduce the hard work and perseverance of people in history who made an impact. Students learned the important impact made by people like Jackie Robinson, Katherine Johnson, Misty Copeland and Barack Obama. They learned that when situations are not fair, it takes commitment and hard work to make changes.
We are grateful for your donation that constantly provides our students with exposure to valuable characteristics of initiative and perseverance.”

Funded Aug 25, 2022Our students have excelled in their phonics skills through the resources you provided. They have been practicing their letter writing with the colorful alphabet mats and their word writing on the specialized word writing mats.
The fun alphabet cards are an engaging matching activity to learn uppercase and lowercase letters. We see progress and growth each week as we utilize these resources. We have some students who are starting to read words and are able to find the correct word in a word to picture matching activity.
We are so thankful to have these resources that we will use for the entire school year to develop our students reading skills.”

0% Germs Equals 100% Attendance!
Funded Aug 26, 2022We are so grateful for the cleaning and personal care donations. We have been able to clean our classroom items as well as maintaining our personal well being.
The wipes and spray help us keep our table, chairs and shared items clean and germ free. Our students take pride in having a clean germ free classroom everyday. When colds and flu season arrived we were prepared to minimize the spread of germs and student illness.
Our students frequently washed their hands with our supply of dial soap. We did not need to spend our own money or ask for parent donations for hand soap. As the running noses and sneezing increased, our supply of tissues was essential. We still have enough to get through the rest of cold and flu season.
Thank you for your support in the wellness of our students.”

Level A Is Amazing!
Funded Dec 10, 2021Our Level A readers are so excited to have new books for Reading Workshop. The bright, shiny new books peaked their interest and increased their stamina to read cover to cover.
Level A readers are at the beginning of the reading process, so having new books that are exciting and at just the right level is so important to building a love of reading. These books also gave our readers the confidence they need to use their early reading tools. Our Level A readers are proud of their new books and are eager to share all they learned with a reading partner.
Thank you for your generosity and for promoting a love of reading in our classroom.”

Funded Aug 13, 2020Our students used these workbooks throughout the summer and the pandemic to maintain and work on academic skills. The workbooks gave parents the resources to work with students when remote learning was a challenge due to the lack of a device or wifi. The workbooks provide much need writing practice and time away from the screen. The activities were engaging and fun for our students.
All students had access to learning in resources thanks to these resources!
Thank you for your dedication to learning and our students.”

Funded Sep 27, 2018We cannot thank you enough for providing the laminator to our classroom. We have created visual supports for our students who require specialized instruction. Our literacy and math centers are filled with explicit hands on learning that is scaffolded and differentiated for our students needs. These activities will not only last through this year but for years to come.
Our children who require additional support benefit from the visual cards and schedules we create. These visual aids provide understanding for learning and transitions throughout the day. We wear a set of visual cues on lanyards to consistently support our students during every activity.
We have created reading, writing and math activities for our students. Some of these activities are individualized, like the name writing sheets which the children use every day.
This holiday season, the students made snow globe keepsakes for their families. Each one had a fun photo which we laminated for families to cherish for many years.
Thank you again for providing the laminator to our classroom. A simple machine that provides endless learning and opportunities.”

Funded Apr 13, 2018Our students were amazed to see the transformation of our seeds to plants. They enjoyed the hands on activity of filling the see-through-grower with soil and planting seeds. Every day they were in awe of the "magic" of the seeds growing into plants. The seed-through-grower allowed them to see the many roots that developed and gain understanding of the importance of the different parts of a plant. The plants provided the perfect visual for the students to draw the parts of a plant and truly gain understanding and knowledge.
Thank you for your generosity and for providing this wonderful learning opportunity for our students. They will be impacted by this experience for many years.”
