Letting Science Knowledge Grow Through Hydroponics
Funded Aug 7, 2024These hydroponic kits will enrich my science teaching and allow students to better understand the process through which plants create matter. I am excited to work with them to grow plants in our class! Our unit on ecosystems has a whole strand on plants, and these kits will really help them to see that it is really is air, water, and sunlight that plants use to produce food.
Students are looking forward to this unit and for the chance to participate in this hands on learning. I couldn't have done this without your help and donations so thank you so much! I appreciate your support of education and my class!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Holiday Oil.Flexible Seating for Focus
Funded Dec 3, 2023Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! Your generosity has gone a long way for my students! I wish I could show you the look on the face of my student who has the wobble feet on the bottom of his chair. He was smiling so big on the the day I put them on his chair because now he can move and rock his chair right at his desk without being disruptive. It has helped him to focus and get things done in class!
My students are also loving the bubble chairs. It allows them to have the option to sit around the room to read or work. It has helped my students with adhd to be able to focus more since the chair wobbles and they can get out some energy while working. Thank you for supporting my class and my students. I appreciate it so much!”

Books to Boost Literacy
Funded Jan 22, 2022Thank you, thank you, thank you! This was an amazing opportunity to receive funding to buy literacy materials for my classroom. I have been able to get a lot of new books that my students have already enjoyed reading. I was also able to get other literacy materials that I have used in small group lessons in my classroom. This year more than ever, my students started out the year very behind in reading. I have been doing the best I can to help them make growth. This grant for literacy has helped me in teaching lessons and in having better books for my students to read.
Some ways I have used these materials is by using the whisper phones for students to practice fluency by reading to themselves out loud. I have used the page markers to have students mark places where they made a connection, have a question, visualized, or found a funny part in their chapter book. I use the magnet bingo chips and magnet wands for students to chunk or separate words into their phonemes or graphemes and them blend them together when they slide the magnet over the chips. The copies of Out of My Mind I received are going towards a class set of these books that we can use for a whole class literature study. My small groups have enjoyed reading A Series of Unfortunate Events, Lemonade War, A Dog's Life and more. One of my groups just finished reading The Watsons Go to Birmingham. This book talks about a family living in the 1960s and touches on things we talk about in social studies with the civil rights movement. The students loved the relatable characters, funny scenes, and heart felt moments. These books were all bought with the grant and the students are already benefiting from them!
Thank you for choosing to spend this money on education and classrooms. I feel like education can get overlooked or be under supplied and it was so nice to be able to buy these materials that I have wanted for my class.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Utah State Board of Education.Book Bonanza
Funded Dec 11, 2018Thank you so much for your donation. I was able to purchase a variety of books on my students' reading levels for our guided reading books. Choosing titles they are interested in has encouraged them to read and kept them engaged. This has helped my reading instruction by expanding the types of texts I can use and helping me to have more of a variety of reading levels. My struggling readers have been more excited about reading and my higher readers have had access to more informational texts on their levels. Buying books can be costly so I truly am grateful for the money received to buy them.”

It's Electric!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donations. My science lessons have improved so much with the resources I was able to buy. Students are able to work on things hands on and gain a better understanding of what we learn by experiencing it firsthand. Students have really enjoyed getting to create circuits, working with magnets, and using the beakers for chemical changes. I appreciate receiving the donations to help me gather these very useful materials. Not only does it make things more engaging, it really allows the students to explore and create for themselves!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple.Chromebooks Craze
Funded Oct 12, 2017Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom! Having 5 more chrome books has made a huge difference. My students are able to do research, type essays, participate in review games, and take reading tests on these new chrome books. I also have students who are interested in STEM and coding, and these high functioning chrome books have aided them in gaining these skills.
We are able to have these five chrome books in our class at all times where we share the the rest of the chrome books, so it has been a great help to have some permanently for our class' use. Students are able to get online when they finish their work early and can participate more in educational activities involving technology.
We were recently able to create ebooks online where students could type stories and embed pictures. They loved it! As a teacher I love these opportunities to be able to integrate technology into many subjects and having these chrome books really helps it happen.
These are just a few of the ways chrome books have benefited my class. I look forward to students getting more use out of them and to continuing to incorporate technology effectively in the future.”
