This will be my first year at P.S. 126 and my first time ever teaching First Grade! That's a lot of firsts! Although I have not yet met my students, from the statistics, I know that they will come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I will have Asian, Black, and Hispanic students, some of which will be English language learners, and most of which will be receiving free or reduced lunch. First grade is a very important year for students in terms of literacy. This is the year where 'play' really reduces and students start to have a lot more schoolwork and homework responsibilities. However, this does not mean all the fun goes out the window! So it is my job to help them meet and even exceed all of their academic goals as well as social and emotional goals, all while having a blast in my classroom! We will appreciate anything that you can give!
