• Super Supplies for Super Students

  The impact of the supply donation on my 5th grade classroom was immediately noticeable and incredibly positive. Before receiving the folders, student belongings were often a chaotic mix of loose papers, crumpled assignments, and misplaced notes. This disorganization made it difficult for students to stay on top of their work and often led to frustration and lost learning time. The new folders provided a structured system for organizing their materials, directly supporting our AVID focus on developing essential organizational skills. Seeing students confidently access their work and maintain a tidy learning space has been truly rewarding. This simple tool has empowered them to take ownership of their learning and apply the AVID strategies we've been working on throughout the year.

  Beyond the folders, the donation of markers and erasers has revitalized our note-taking process. Students are now enthusiastically creating colorful and engaging notes, using the markers to highlight key concepts and the erasers to refine their work. This has made learning more interactive and fun, and I've seen a noticeable improvement in student engagement and retention of information.”

• Light Up Learning

  I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for supporting our 5th-grade Glow Day celebration. This special event marks the 1,000th day of school for our students, a significant milestone in their educational journey. It's a day filled with excitement, engagement and and lasting memories.

  Each year, our students eagerly anticipate celebrating the 100th day of school. In 5th grade, we amplify this celebration tenfold, recognizing the cumulative learning and growth represented by their 1,000th day. We transform our classroom into a glowing wonderland, creating an immersive and unique learning environment that fosters joy and wonder. Last year's Glow Day will be no exception, and we planned a series of engaging activities that your generous support will directly enhance.

  Our day begins with tangram puzzles, designed to encourage problem-solving skills and critical thinking. These hands-on activities lay the foundation for a day of collaborative learning. We then delve into the science of glow sticks, exploring the chemical reactions that create light and sparking curiosity about the world around them. Independent reading with finger lights adds a touch of magic to quiet reading time, fostering a love of literature in a unique and captivating way.

• Read Aloud Magic!

  The impact of the book donations on my fifth-grade classroom was truly remarkable. The new titles sparked a renewed excitement for reading, especially as we delved into different genres. Students were eager to explore the worlds within the pages, and the books provided excellent examples of strong writing techniques. We used these mentor texts to discuss how authors hook readers, craft vivid descriptions, and develop compelling narratives. Beyond writing skills, the books also served as a springboard for important social-emotional lessons.

  The diverse collection of stories offered characters facing relatable challenges, which opened up valuable conversations about problem-solving, empathy, and resilience. My students connected with these characters and learned how to navigate their own emotions and social situations through the lens of literature. The pencil boxes have been invaluable in helping students organize their supplies, keeping their belongings neat and tidy, and preventing lost or damaged items. The dry erase boards have been a true game-changer! I have already seen a positive impact on their learning and enthusiasm for classroom activities.

• Making Ideas Light Up With Paper Circuits!

  I just want to thank you for the donation of materials for our paper circuit project has had a tremendous impact on my students and their learning experience. These hands-on materials have allowed them to explore the concepts of circuitry in a tangible and engaging way. They're not just reading about it in a textbook anymore; they're actively building circuits, testing connections, and seeing the results firsthand. This has sparked a newfound curiosity and excitement about STEM fields, and I've witnessed some real "aha" moments as they figure out how to make their circuits work.

  Beyond the specific science concepts, this project has also fostered crucial creativity and problem-solving skills. About 80% of my students are language learners and it will be fun to write and learn about new words. I'm excited to have watercolor paper to create some beautiful projects.
