These resources will help us learn even more and have beautiful photographs and maps at our fingertips! We will refer to these new books often! It will be awesome to use some of these supplies every day at school! Kids often love to learn in class with their teacher, and then go explore these same topics on their own. It is helpful to have a variety of books for them so they can do this. For example, we have an extensive unit on the 7 continents. I have asked for an atlas and many books which relate to animals from those 7 continents which is also a part of what we teach. We also are excited about clipboards and regular supplies that we will have and usually have to purchase with our own money. This summer, we were in a workshop and learned about how important it is to move around while in class. We try hard not to keep the kids constantly seated at their desks. The clipboards allow the little ones to take their "desk" with them and work in a quiet spot on the floor, which they love! We also asked for a sound bar, which I will use each day to create a peaceful atmosphere in our classroom with nice and calm "thinking" music. I also will use it daily to play our sound song, which teaches our kinder the sound that each letter makes and is our springboard to writing and reading. Finally, we asked for some fun sight word mats which we will use to encourage our "pink piggy words" with the kids in a fun and interactive way. It is so nice to have a well stocked classroom.
