Collaborative Conversations Cafe!

My students have LOVED their collaborative cafe table! On open house evening, I had multiple families and children show excitement and comment on how excited they were about the table and getting to use it!
The students get to use the table during independent and partner activities. They love being able to get out of their seats and work somewhere else in the room to change things up!
The dry erase board materials have made the students excited to work in groups on math skills and phonics. Getting to write on the top of the tables have really engaged and excited them!

These materials will make my 2nd grade classroom a fun place to learn! The table with bistro style chairs will allow the students the opportunity to work with me and their peers on intervention or enrichment activities. This changes the normal routine of being in their desk all day. For example, if I am working on math strategies with a few students that are unable to add with regrouping- they will enjoy the fact they can practice and reinforce their skills by writing directly on the desk! What kid doesn't find that to be fun! In addition to small group work- this will also allow student the flexibility of working at another place in the room that gets them out of their seat. It will make learning fun and give it a cafe style feeling!
