Having several options for seating is important for maintaining focus in the classroom. Studies have shown that students do not all learn the same way; therefore I am going to arrange my classroom based on a flexible seating style in order to accommodate all learners. Several of my students have ADHD and/or other learning disabilities and have trouble concentrating during class. Giving students ways to move around or fidget can help them regain that focus while learning. Stability Cushion Discs, Wobble Stools, Stack Stools, Carpet Squares, and Fidget Bands are a way to aid in student focus. The Stability Cushion Discs allow for students to wiggle their bodies in a way, which isn’t distracting to the learning process and can, also help students concentrate on classroom instruction. The Wobble Chair Stools are an amazing tool that can aid students who have ADHD and Autism. Wobbling on the chair increases blood flow to the brain and thereby quiets the requirement for fidgety kids to move, which allows for students to learn better and are more productive. The Rainbow Colored Stack Stools allow for learners to sit a little higher up at their desks/tables that are raised in my classroom. Fidget Bands allow for students to move their feet along the band at the base of a chair in order to remain focused during learning. Carpet squares allow students to sit comfortably throughout the room while working on the floor or next to a low-leveled table. I am also asking for a Office Desk Chair, so I too, can have a comfortable work-space station to develop interactive, fun, and engaging lessons for my amazing enthusiastic students!
