  • Kindergarten Creativity

    We thank you for the generous donations to get our class Cricut! Due to the circumstances of the year with Covid going on, we have not gotten to do as much since the school continuously closes unfortunately. We have started with labeling things in our classroom to be more organized as well as keep socially distant areas separated and sanitized at all times. Each child gets their own bins that are labeled to keep their materials in. Each child is incredibly honored to have their own bins and they enjoy the responsibility of taking care of them. With the labels made by the Cricut it allows for them to be more accountable for their own supplies and items. We were also able to squeeze in ornaments for the kids for the holidays and they were so proud to hang these on their trees and put them in their houses. We want to thank you again, and hope for school to return to normal soon so we can continue using our fun new tool!”

  • Seating for Our Brains!!

    These new resources have not only changed the atmosphere of my classroom, but the mindsets of my students. I do parallel teaching in my classroom, when we do our small group these kids are ecstatic to sit on these chairs. As soon as they sit down, they check in and focus right away. Their attention span has increased drastically, and it's overwhelming to see the change happen so fast.

    When my students first saw the materials, their jaws dropped. They were blown away with how many gifts they received; Let alone believing they were for them in general. When they saw what they were, they were so excited to see these seating options, and know they no longer have to sit on the floor in discomfort. They love showing off the seating to anyone that walks into the room. The faces on the people that see them as well, is very supportive and excited to see what we have done for our children.

    I thank all my donors for allowing me to help my student's and give them more of a reason to want to be in the classroom and encourage them to enjoy a different way of learning. Next steps, will be encouraging my students to not only use the seating for teaching moments, but for independent reading time as well. Thank you all!!”

  • Having Fun in Education!!

    I can not express enough how grateful I am for the supplies that we received. We use these supplies daily, whether they are full class, centers, or partner work. The kids were so thrilled and excited to open these boxes and see everything. They were hugging each item and saying thank you. We will continue to use these supplies daily and give my students the hands on approach that will gain them the knowledge they need. I am so excited to use these supplies more and more and allow the kids to gain all the knowledge they possibly can.”

The typical student in my class reads at a third grade level and many struggle with basic phonics and number sense. 90% of our students are African American or Latino. Special education teachers are expected to deliver excellent instruction in Math, Reading and Writing. Having extra visual and hands on supports to further my students understanding of the material will keep them less frustrated, and help guide them even more.
