  • Hear Ye, Hear Ye

    Funded Nov 28, 2022

It warms my heart that there are so many wonderful caring people out there that support projects such as these to help students experience success with much needed materials. With your generosity, these students will use and benefit from new books to support their goal as readers. I am so grateful !!!”

  • Headphones to Assist our Learning Rockstars

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Because of your generosity, 30 students were able to access technology in the classroom without disturbing or distracting other students. They were able to use iPads quietly using headphones and engage in math or literacy activities tailor made for them. Not one size fits all. Each individual had the opportunity and was able to better his or her skills on their needs not the whole class. Using headphones gave them this valuable opportunity, thanks to your generosity. Without you their growth would not have been as great as it was because of direct targeted instruction.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McHale

  • Technology in Our Classroom!

    Funded Dec 4, 2019

Using the i pad, we can project wirelessly on the smart board for all students to see. Student work can be shown on the board using the technology in the i pad. While using the i pad, the teacher can circulate the class with the i pad and share the written work of students immediately on the spot. Sharing the thinking of the members of the class helps to maintain engagement amongst the students while they learn from each other to raise their levels of comprehension and understanding.

The projector gives the teacher the ability to project work and model their thinking for the class. This is an important impact in education because it opens a window for the students to see the thought process involved with the activity.

We are humbled by your generosity and thank you so very much for the donations to our class technology,”

My students struggle with foundational skills in reading. They are learning new sounds, and new vocabulary. Using an iPad will help them primarily in two ways, sound development, vocabulary acquisition. Using a listening center is a scientifically proven method of developing these skills in ESL students. The iPad can be used in a reading center with six students, to help them develop phonics skills, and visuals to support vocabulary acquisition. They will have the benefit of both seeing and hearing new sounds and words. The center will rotate reaching all of my kids on their varied levels of development. Please help me to help my students develop their love of reading by becoming successful in foundational reading skills. Readers become leaders!!
