Collaboration Stations
Funded May 9, 2023Thank you so much for your contribution to our sixth grade classroom! One of the barriers we have experienced to having our students do more creative problem solving is that we do not have enough vertical workspace for them to work at. With your help, we have been able to start tackling that problem.
We primarily use these vertical workstations in Math when we are solving multi step word problems. These workstations are great for students because it allows all members of the group to participate with ease, as well as allows for plenty of space for students to show their thinking. It also gives students opportunities to see how other students may solve a problem, allowing them to see various approaches besides their own.
In the future, we will continue to use these workstations to allow or more creative and collaborative problem solving. We have a new group of students who are excited and eager to do so!”

Funded Sep 19, 2023Thank you so much for supporting our project! This allows our students to be creative, hands-on problem solvers. It brings me great joy to be able to give them opportunities to become real world mathematicians and collaborative thinkers. We greatly appreciate all that you have done to support this vision!”

Flexible Seating for Sixth Grade
Funded Mar 15, 2021Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom! Through your help and support, we were able to purchase flexible seating options for our sixth grade class! We were able to purchase three wobble stools, two lap desks, and two ball chairs. These options help to keep students active, while still engaged in their learning. It has made a huge difference in our classroom!
Prior to finding out about Donors Choose, students were brainstorming ways that we could raise money to have these options for us in our classroom. Students thought of ideas such as a bake sale, penny wars, or even a car wash. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, many of these options had to be ruled out. Your contribution turned their dreams into a reality!
These flexible seating options have helped students stay active and continue to be engaged in their learning. Wobble stools give students the flexibility to move around while working, lap desks offer the freedom of working around the room and the ball chairs give us flexibility to move around while learning.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Switlick
