First and foremost, my students were overjoyed to learn that the project was fully funded. They especially like the tabletop writing center organizer. It keeps everything they need for writing projects neatly organized. They also enjoy wearing the "ASK ME what I learned today?" badges. iPads for Digital Storytelling Projects
Funded Mar 9, 2016Thank you so much for funding this digital storytelling project. My students, no doubt, are "digital natives." They were able to use the tablets and storytelling apps with ease! Their first digital storytelling project was inspired by a reading of the Diary of Anne Frank. The iPads enabled my students to take an individualized, virtual tours of the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam where they viewed short video clips that gave them ideas on how they could retell Anne's story digitally. Their digital stories are AMAZING-- video, stills, captions and narration! This project has given "a voice" to my quietest students and has enabled them to make their learning visible to others.

Funded Mar 9, 2016Thank you so much for funding our "Ancient Egyptian Art: Rock With Us With!" art project.
Your generous donations provided my students with interesting and exciting, nonfiction books about ancient Egypt that have piqued their interest and desire to know more about other ancient civilizations. They used the Egyptian papyrus paper to write their names and messages for others to decode --see our photos! They are so proud of their artwork and can explain hieroglyphics and the history of the papyrus paper when someone asks about their artwork. Please know that your generosity has empowered my students through the art and no doubt, made ancient Egyptian art come to life!”

Funded Mar 9, 2016Thank you so much for funding our project to help my students make important literacy/geography connections.
Although our first issue won't arrive until September 2016, my students have been so thoroughly engaged by each issue of the Scholastic News magazine they are currently receiving. Learning that their subscription has been renewed for another year, brought shouts of joy. The colorful, engaging, nonfiction articles AND online activities (that are aligned to Common Core standards) keep my students interested and excited about reading and learning!

It's Story Time!
Funded Mar 9, 2016Thank you so much for funding our class project, "It's Story Time!" Your generous support of this project has provided my students with an up-to-date listening center. The wireless (and tangle-free) headphones are a big hit! My students are able to help keep the are neat and organized. Because of you, our donors, my students now have a new CD/cassette player, wireless headphones and storage unit to help keep the books, CDs and headphones organized and accessible as they work on their comprehension and fluency skills.”

Inspiring Curiosity
Funded Mar 9, 2016Thank you for funding our class project, "Inspiring Curiosity." My students were in awe and completely overjoyed that you, our donors, are committed to advancing STEM education.
When the boxes arrived and they opened them, they were filled with wonder, excitement, and asked so many questions. They seemed particularly interested in the ecoSTEM PolliNation kit as we have access to a community garden. This hands-on learning opportunity will enable them to actually see the life cycle of a butterfly up close, in person and in real-time!

Funded Mar 9, 2016Thank you for your generous donations to fully fund, "Rewarding Positive Behaviors." The "Caught Doing Good" pencils, bookmarks, glittery stickers and other resources will go a long way in inspiring and encouraging my students to do the right thing.
My students were shocked and completely overjoyed when they heard the news that an anonymous donor fully funded our project. They like being acknowledged publicly before their peers for doing the right thing and then getting an opportunity to choose an item from the reward box. Clean Hands & Healthy Hearts!
Funded Dec 18, 2015Thank you for your donations to fund this 'life essentials' project. Because of your generosity, my students are becoming more mindful of the snack foods they are consuming. Now, they can be observed reading food labels and overheard discussing the nutritional value of different snack foods. It is no doubt that they are on the path to making better choices when choosing healthier snack foods
The stress balls are also helping my students manage daily stress and anxiety when preparing for the upcoming state exams. The stress balls keep their fingers moving and enable them stay focused and do their best work.

Funded Dec 31, 2015Your generous funding of this art project has provided my students with increased access to arts education. My students could hardly wait to start their "All About Me" books when they saw the class pack of markers, colored pencils and glittery stickers. The design-your-own pencil cases are a big hit and they absolutely love showing off their artistic creativity. Even my reluctant writers were inspired to write because they could illustrate their very own books.

Funded Nov 3, 2015Thank you so much for the donations to"The Power of Words" project that build on the foundations for reading success. My students look forward to our daily Word-of-the-Day warm-up activity where they use context clues to determine the meaning new words, based on the evidence in the text and then use the dictionaries, your funding provided, to make a confirmation. The index cards provide them with a handy repository for their new words. It is so wonderful to hear students engaged in conversations about vocabulary or when they use these new words in their writing to make it interesting and exciting.”
