Respect For All
Funded May 23, 2017Again, thank you so much for funding our classroom project to teach tolerance. Your generosity will be instrumental in helping my students to learn the "golden rule" about treating others they way they want to be treated and that differences must and should be respected. Your generosity has enabled us to create a "Respect For All" bulletin board to remind members in our school community about choosing kind words and thinking before speaking when interacting with people (or classmates) that may be different from them. The students were super-excited when they saw the t-shirts which will be worn during our "Respect For All" assembly where they will share with others the importance of demonstrating kindness, compassion, tolerance and respect for all.”

Funded May 18, 2017Thank you all for your donations to our summer literacy project to prevent summer reading loss.
Your generous donations have provided my students with assorted Dr. Seuss beginner books that they can read independently. These books will provide them with repeated exposure to sight words and rhymes that are catchy and funny that will help them become proficient readers.
The day the books arrived, my students could not wait to get their hands on these books and begin reading for themselves about the whimsical adventures of the Cat in the Hat. Now until school ends, they are practicing their oral reading fluency skills by reading their texts with a partner. When told that your generosity was providing each of the them with copies of their favorite Dr. Seuss books, they were ecstatic! Many promised that they would read them every day! Some even said they would read their books to their younger siblings.
Again, thank you so much for funding this project to place beginner readers in their hands (hearts and heads) that they can read every day and to help them to catch up, keep up and place them on the path for success next year.”

LEGO: There's Magic in Those Little Bricks
Funded Mar 23, 2017Thank you so much for funding our STEM project to improve outcomes and boost the home-school connection.
After modeling "Subtraction Lego" with my students, they were super-excited and ready to 'play'. This math game is very engaging and no doubt, captured their attention. By playing this game, they think learning math in a hands-on way is fun. When they learned that each of them would get a baggie with soft dice, LEGO bricks, pencils and notepads, to take home to practice addition and subtraction facts with their families, they were in awe and their excitement could not be contained.
Again, thank you for your generous support of this project. Because you, our donors, my students are learning and mastering important math concepts and skills that will take them to the next level.”

Funded Oct 6, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you for fully funding our "Mindful Eating is Healthier Eating" health and wellness project. We are still in awe by your overwhelming generosity.
Simply tasting the freeze-dried fruit crisps was a first for nearly all of my students. Initially, they tasted it very cautiously thinking they wouldn't like them, but they thoroughly enjoyed them. They said they really like being able to mix the sunflower seeds with the dried fruit to make their very own trail mixes. Your generosity has exposed them to healthier options for snacking and making them more conscious and mindful of the foods they are putting in their growing bodies.
Again, many thanks for funding this project.”

Let's Get Physical!
Funded Sep 30, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you so much for fully funding our "Let's Get Physical" health and wellness project. My students and I genuinely appreciate you. Your generosity is overwhelming!
When my students opened the boxes, they were ecstatic and eager to use the new resources. As our photos show, my students are actively engaged in physical activities during their recess periods. One boy said, "These are really nice basketballs because the air doesn't come out when we play with them." It is truly wonderful to see my students (both boys and girls) using the jump ropes, being active and getting physically fit rather than just congregating in a corner of the school yard.
No doubt, the use of these resources during their daily recess periods, gym periods and in-class brain break activities will inspire them get them up and moving for a life time!
Again, thank you!”
