  • Germ Smart

    Funded Jan 29, 2018

Thank you so much for funding our classroom project to promote overall health and hygiene. Your generosity has been instrumental in providing my students with essential resources, such as hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and facial tissues to prevent the spread of cold and flu germs. My students are using the liquid soap to learn proper hand washing techniques and have facial tissues to keep running noses clean and dry. Again, thank you for supporting our classroom project to promote overall health and wellness. Attendance matters--because daily attendance matters.”

    Funded Dec 31, 2017

Thank you all for funding our 'Green Screen 'Adventures' project. Your generosity provided my students with access to interesting and exotic places around the world via the Internet and Google Earth. My students were in awe that they could "visit" all of the U.S. monuments and national parks without leaving the classroom. After visiting many of these places, they took notes on what they saw, thought and wondered. They used their notes to create "Green Screen Adventures' to shared what they learned on their virtual trips.”

  • Robotics for Kids

    Funded Dec 8, 2017

Albert Einstein said, "Play is the highest form of research." Thanks to you, my students are actively engaged in meaningful and productive hours of 'play'. Your generosity has them with programmable robots that promotes 21st century skills-- collaboration, critical thinking and creating! My students could not wait to take robots out of the boxes so they could take their "coding game" to the next level The robots and LEGO construction kits will enable them to work in teams to write (and debug) codes for their upcoming STEM/Science Fair later this month. The are super-excited about showing their peers, teachers and parents what they learning about coding and robotics in school. No doubt, your generous funding has inspired my students to become the critical thinkers and problem-solvers of tomorrow!”

  • STEM: Computer Science for All

    Funded Aug 28, 2017

Again, thank you so much for funding our classroom project, STEM: Computer Science for All. Because of your generosity, my students are so excited when lessons are planned around the ruse of these resources. They are become so engaged when the Wonder Dash robot comes out of the box, it is turned on, lights up, awaiting its first command. My students collaborate in teams to program the robot to move through an obstacle course. They are leaning the basic of coding with the Wonder Dash 'kid-friendly' apps. The Makey-Makey kits have them super-excited about STEM lessons and related activities. They enjoy coding (programming) and can be heard saying, "Oh, no!" when the robot doesn't do what was expected. This type of learning must be what Albert Einstein meant when he said, "Play is the highest of research."”

  • A New Life in America

    Funded Aug 29, 2017

Thank you so much for funding our "A New Life in America" classroom project so my students could learn more about the immigrant experience. Your generosity is completely overwhelming! Because of you, my students have interesting, exciting and culturally relevant books about the immigrant experience. My students were actively engaged during the interactive read alouds. Some even shared that they even visited The Statue of Liberty. They were able to pair up and share with their partner then the whole class. Since many of my students are immigrants for first-generation immigrants the connections they made were amazing.

Again, thank you for funding this important project and taking learning about the immigrant experience to the next level.”
