  • Preventing Summer Reading Loss

    Funded Jun 20, 2019

Thank you all for supporting this literacy endeavor. Your generosity will be instrumental in putting books, writing journal, pencils, crayons and other resources in the hands of my students. Because of you my students will be able to have books to read every day when school ends for summer recess. The writing journals, pencils and crayons will be particularly helpful to them after reading their books. They will be able to use the crayons to draw pictures of their favorite parts of the their story and to respond in writing about the texts they have read. Again, thank you for all that you do to advance literacy.”

  • Hygiene Matters!

    Funded May 7, 2019

Thank you all so much for supporting our classroom project, 'Hygiene Matters' that included non-toxic hygiene and cleaning supplies as well as an assortment of healthy and nutritious snacks.

As you can see from the photos, my students were filled with awe when they opened the boxes. After eating a snack, one boy began to lick his fingers and a girl remarked, "That's what the wet-wipes are for!" He then opened his package of wet-wipes to wipe his face and hands. Your support has been instrumental in helping my students understand and learn why hygiene matters--and for that, we say, "THANK YOU! "”

  • Healthy Snacks

    Funded Apr 17, 2019

Thank you all so, so much for funding our healthy snacks classroom project. Your generosity has been instrumental in providing my students with healthier, nutritious options for snacking.

When they opened the boxes and saw the boxes, almost in unison, they screamed, 'Popcorn, popcorn!" No doubt, the popcorn is their favorite. They were so excited when they found out they each were getting an . assortment of snacks. We discusses the importance of monitoring what they eat and selecting snacks that are not loaded with sugars, fat and salt.”

  • Bubble Play

    Funded Mar 12, 2019

Thank you all so much for generously supporting this fun and engaging classroom project. As you can see from our photos, I knew my students would enjoy a 'bubble play' day, but I did not anticipate the positive energy, excitement, fun and enthusiasm it would bring to the classroom. I am still not sure whether they enjoyed blowing and making bubbles or catching them. No doubt, your generous support of this project has been instrumental in engaging my students in important gross motor skills with a a fun physical activity that gets them them to reach, improve hand-eye coordination, stretch, stand on tippy-toes and trying to capture bubbles. As Albert Einstein said, "Play is the highest form of research."”

  • Dressed for Success With Clean Uniforms

    Funded Feb 26, 2019

Thank you so much for supporting our 'Dressed for Success' campaign. Your generosity is truly overwhelming! Because of you, each of my students received a bag of laundry supplies with a gift tag and message for their families highlighting your generosity and for helping students get 'Dressed for Success."

My students' eyes widened and they smiled from ear to ear when they saw the bags filled with laundry detergent and fresheners. The room was buzzing and filled with so much excitement when they got their bags.

Again, thank you for supporting this endeavor to ensure students are 'Dressed for Success' every day!”

  • ABC Mindful Me

    Funded Feb 1, 2019

Thank you all so much for funding our ABC Mindful Me classroom project .

Having the diffuser with essential oils creates a spa-like atmosphere in the classroom. My students say the aroma is pleasant and very calming.

The stress balls are, by far, their favorites. The stress balls help them to cope with their sensory needs. One student said, "It helps me stay calm so I can focus when I am taking tests." These resources are helping to relieve unwanted anxiety and stress.

My students and I appreciate you and all that you do! Your generosity will go far in advancing social-emotional learning in the classroom and helping students with ADHD to self-regulate their actions and behaviors.”

  • Bullying Is Never Cool!

    Funded Dec 19, 2018

Again, thank you so much for funding our anti-bullying and respect for all classroom project. Your generosity has been instrumental in providing the resources to make this a reality.

When my students saw the abundance of anti-bullying pencils, the room was filled with joy. The scented stickers are a big hit, too! The anti-bullying posters will be displayed conspicuously to serve as constant reminder that bullying is NEVER cool. The posters, wristbands, pencils and stickers are tangible reminders to be kind to other and to show respect for all.”

  • Clean Hands & Healthy Hearts

    Funded Jan 1, 2019

Thank you so much for funding our classroom project to promote health and wellness. My students smiled and were so surprised to see the boxes and boxes of resources to help keep their hands clean and germ-free.

Now, my students have essential resources to master an important routine whenever they cough or sneeze. First, they 'dab' (sneeze/cough in their elbows), then they use a facial tissue to wipe running noses, and finish with a drop of hand sanitizer and/or by washing their hands with soap and water.

Your generosity has been instrumental in ensuring they won't miss a day from school because of the cold or flu. Clean hands will help to ensure they won't miss a day from school. Because when they miss a day from school, they miss a lot.”

  • Ancient Egyptian Art: Rock With Us

    Funded Nov 13, 2018

Thank you all for supporting our classroom project on Egyptian Art. Your generosity provided interesting and exciting books with colorful images to give them a better understanding of the culture. My students were particularly interested in designing images for their rocks. Although it go a little messy, they enjoyed themselves and learned so much about different forms of communication They enjoyed using the stencils and papyrus paper to write secret messages. This project enabled my student to not only collaborate, but engage them in project-based learning.”
