A Sensory Learning Environment for All
Funded Sep 30, 2024Thank you for helping to make our classroom an inclusive sensory learning environment. We were so excited to receive and open the differenr materials. These materials have made our classroom fun to be in everyday. Learning has really become a joy for the students. They are engaged and look forward to the daily lessons and interactions.
The sensory floor mats has given students confidence and independence in learning. The students love using the headphones. It keeps them focused on the individualized lessons on their iPads. The privacy boards help manage behaviors/distractions, promotes individual learning and reduces student anxiety. They have been an essential part of our "independent" work stations. Overall, memorable learning moments have grown with the use of the materials received. It has created such a impact on the educational experience for my students. We are blessed and grateful for The Mexwell/Hanrahan Foundation whom contributed to our project which allowed this testament.”
With gratitude,

Funded Sep 6, 2020Words cannot express the gratitude from my students and I. The past year has been undescrible. The social/emotional roller coaster and stress of COVID-19 continues to break families and negatively impact children's learning.
As a teacher and mother, this is heartbreaking. I am forever thankful to the small moments of JOY that Donor's Chose brought into my classroom. Every time I shared a new item with my students, the shimmer in their eyes gave me hope for better days during this pandemic. The oohs and aahs from using the Human Body magnets and the lifelong connections the kids made were priceless. I can still hear Azzion yelling WoW!!....as he explored the reels of the view masters. I'm excited to read the non fiction reports thr kids create from using the animal life themed view masters. Math has come to life thanks to the math texts we recieved. The scholars appreciate the chart paper and being able to create personalized visual aids all over the classroom that meet their learning styles and needs.
My parents are thankful for the excitement to learn that their children have. The gesture is appreciated from all parties involved.
By the end of the year, my class will create a learning resource that other students can use to make learning fun. They will also donate select anchor charts that they created to the upcoming class for next year.
Thank you for helping to make learning fun and engaging despite our current global obstacle.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Redfield
