Educators today hear a lot about gaps in education – achievement gaps, funding gaps, school-readiness gaps. Still, there's another gap that is often left out: the cultural gap between students and teachers. As a public school educator, I would love to have access to a classroom set of chrome books to open up a world of possibilities for my students. Exposure to other cultures, religions and customs at an early age allows students to comprehend and accept differences within our community. Utilizing technology to connect with other students and classrooms around the world will give our students the exposure needed to build their tolerance while engaging in 21st century skills and promoting life lessons that will carry students through their educational career.
