  • Learning Takes a Seat

    Funded Feb 13, 2025

Thank you for donating to my classroom! These chairs are much needed to allow for students who don't like sitting on stools. The chairs we had were at least 15 years old and were unsafe to use as they would bend and the person would fall to the floor. These will be so nice! Again, Thank you for your donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barlow

  • SPIKE Essentials Meet the New Hawkbots

    Funded Oct 6, 2023

Thank you so much for the donation to my robotics team! This kit has made a huge impact on my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students. They are using the kit as part of their models for the FLL Explore team. They will continue to use it while modifying their models while learning to program it. The kit will help the 3rd and 4th grade students be ready for moving up to the Challenge competition team next fall. So, this has helped our team grow from 4 students to at least 12 as of right now!

Your contribution has made a huge impact on my robotics team, again I appreciate it!”

  • Classroom On A Cart

    Funded Sep 26, 2023

Thank you for donating to my classroom. When my students first saw that we received a cart for materials they were so excited. They couldn't wait to help put it together. We have used the cart for moving books, chromebooks, and coloring supplies to other rooms, just to mention a few things we have used it for. We have also used it to serve ice cream when the students earned rewards and moving Lego from room to room for the robotics team. There really isn't a day that the cart isn't busy.

The stool has been super helpful for when we are on the move so that there is a place for me to sit.

Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom!”

  • Art Supplies for Sensory Needs

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

Thank you for donating to my classroom. The students have really enjoyed the materials for art projects and activities. They love the light board and the easel the most. The light board has been a wonderful tool for the students who seek visual sensory input. The easel has been very helpful for the younger students (kindergarten and 1st grade) to help regulate their behavior. Also, it has helped them want to write and draw to work on their academic skills.

The older student have used the other art supplies for the art station in order to redirect and calm their behaviors. They are always so proud of their work but these supplies have helped them have more than just colors to use.

    Again, thank you!”

  • Give Us a Break

    Funded Jan 12, 2024

Thank you for your contribution to my classroom. The students will enjoy these games and materials to use during their break times. I can't wait until they see the kenetic sand and marble run. I'm sure those will be the favorite activities. Again, thank you for your donation.”

  • Regulate Our Attention and Behavior

    Funded Nov 26, 2023

Thank you so much for the generous donations. These sensory items will truly make a difference for my students. Sensory items like these are so important to my neurodivergent students it helps them regulate their behavior and emotions so that they can participate positively in learning activities. Again thank you for your contribution!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barlow

  • Replace Our Supplies

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

The general supplies for the classroom are used daily. The colored pencils, pencils and markers are used to help students learn and complete their work. The light up board is used by several students who need sensory integration. The zipper bags help the students stay organized with games and activities. There are fewer lost pieces.

When the students first saw the materials they were most excited about the colored pencils and light board.

The students have most recently used the materials to learn and write about Thanksgiving.

    Thank you for the supplies!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barlow

My students all have special needs and most experience sensory input needs. Some need tactile input while others need active movements. These materials will allow for their sensory needs to be met and keep them on track. The core disks are for cushioned seating and gross motor movements. The other items are for tactile input. Sensory items in the classroom increase attention and participation which increase learning. Being able to use sensory items in our class will greatly increase the productivity in our classroom. The current budget does not allow for us to purchase these items and your help is greatly appreciated!
