All of the supplies that are on our list will be used every week! These supplies will be used in math centers, center games and other math activities. The manipulatives will be essential to our math instruction. Students will get the chance to participate in games and meaningful activities which will ad their understanding of different topics. These supplies will be stored in bins which will be accessible to students. Students will have access to supplies to aid our lessons and understanding of concepts. Many of these supplies are universal and can be incorporated into almost any activity we will use in our classroom. My students will have chances to prove their learning and take control of their learning. Not only are the manipulatives helpful, the dry erase pockets will save the environment because they will be used to practice math facts. Students can practice math facts hand outs and erase the white board, saving resources. By implementing math centers using these manipulatives, my students will receive targeted instruction to meet their needs. They will benefit from working in a small group setting where they get more time with the teacher. This way, I can provide additional help and intervention strategies if I see trouble grasping the concept. Specifically, the dice will be used with addition centers. Students will be able to visually see the numbers and use them for additional problems. Their understanding for missing addend and communicative property of addition will be strengthened.
