How can we make learning exciting? I think a good start is making seating comfortable for all students. I teach second grade and my students love to learn by sitting in a variety of ways. Last year they found a "spot" by grabbing a carpet square. But, this year, I would like to add to their seating choice by purchasing an area rug, lap desks, and stability balls. Just as students learn in different ways, they also like to sit in a variety of ways. When students are comfortable they will be more focused and will learn more. Win! Win!
