  • Rock Your School Steam Style!

    Funded Oct 12, 2022

Thank you so much donors for giving my class the opportunity to ROCK OUR SCHOOL STEAM style! We truly had a fantastic day full of learning and FUN! Rock Your School Day allows us to think outside the box, to look for engaging ways to make learning fun and meaningful. The STEAM activity we completed thanks to your generous donations allowed us to do just that.

Our favorite activity was when students created a stage using only paper, paperclips, popsicle sticks and a balloon. The creativity, collaboration, and engineering ideas my students showed working through this activity were incredible.

Thank you donors for providing my students this opportunity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gattis

  • Color Prints to Engage and Inspire Learning!

    Funded May 26, 2022

Wow! What a difference it is to have easy access to a color printer! We love being able to print out our work as we complete it.

We have used it for so many different project this year. We started this year with full color portraits showing off our Lego glasses that highlighting what makes us special. Students enjoyed being able to show them off to their families at back to school night, and families loved seeing them! We've also practiced graphic design and were able to show them off in full color!

We are so grateful for the printer and the positive impact it has had on our classroom! Thank you for your generosity and continued support.”

  • Picture Books for All!

    Funded May 5, 2022

Thank you so much for providing my class with amazing picture books for us all to enjoy! My students were so excited to see which books we received!

One of our favorites was 'The Dot'. We celebrated Dot day by inviting our kindergarten buddy class in to read it together. Everyone enjoyed the story and we all enjoyed seeing what we could do with a dot. We even had a STEAM building challenge to go along with the book.

Picture books have made such a positive impact in our class. We are so grateful for your generosity and support.”

    Funded May 4, 2021

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Technology have become such a big part of 21st century learning. Being able to share the wonderful picture books that promote STEAM learning has been wonderful.

My students love listening to the inspiring stories of Rosie Revere, Engineer, and Perfect Square. They were even more excited about the activities that accompanied them thanks to the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card we received from this project.

My classroom is a better place thanks to the resources we receive because of your support.

    Thank you donors.”

The Astrobright paper, new markers and pens have had such a positive impact in our classroom! We have been creating, learning and growing thanks to these supplies!

Interactive note booking has been so exciting with the colored paper, art projects are coming alive with our new markers and pens and I am so excited to use the paper and markers throughout the year for more hands on learning experiences for my students.

  • Setting the Stage to Engage Harry Potter Style!

    Funded May 20, 2021

This past week my students expected to enter our regular classroom but instead walked in to a magical Harry Potter Room Transformation! To say they were excited would be an understatement!

We have dived right into the Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone and have been loving every minute. We are learning new vocabulary, focusing on key events and main details, researching owls, making wands and writing amazing stories, and we've LOVED every minute.

Having the supplies and decorations we received from this project, set the stage for an amazing learning experience.

Thank you donors. My class and I are truly grateful.”

Thank you donors for supporting my students. Being able to start our school year with the necessary supplies was amazing. My students were so grateful and appreciative of all the supplies they received because of your generous donations.

  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Class Set Please!

    Funded Mar 2, 2020

Even though this school year looks different than previous school years, one thing that remains the same is my students love of reading! Their love of reading is evident during our Harry Potter Book Club. Students across grade levels at our school had the opportunity to sign up and participate in it and explore the Wizzarding World of Harry Potter together.

As a virtual club we meet weekly to read, discuss and explore this amazing book. This is the first time many of student in the club have experienced Harry Potter. Seeing their excitement and interest in reading grow is an amazing experience for me.

Thank you for helping me make this club a reality for me and my students.”

  • Everyone Loves Legos!

    Funded May 6, 2020

We started the year out right thanks to these supplies! As we all know, the pandemic has changed the way we do things and starting school was different this year compared to years in the past. What wasn't different was the excitement my students and I had about starting a new school year and the LEGO supplies were a huge part of it!

Each student received a "Top Secret Activity" bag filled with the LEGO supplies your generous donation provided for my students. Students couldn't wait to open up their "Top Secret Activity" bag to find out what was inside and neither could I!

Once it was finally time, we all opened up our bags and created LEGO glasses that showed who we are. It was such a fun way for us to get to know one another even from a distance! This activity also lent itself to a great writing activity that students enjoyed very much!

Thank you for being an important part in creating a welcoming, fun and engaging activity for my 4th graders and myself!”

    Mrs. Gattis

  • Get Your Teach On!

    Funded Oct 17, 2019

Thank you donors for allowing me the opportunity to go to this amazing conference! I learned so many wonderful and engaging strategies that I am able to use in my classroom. I learned how to incorporate music in to lessons, make close reading exciting, how to make novel studies more engaging and the power of trying things outside your comfort zone (for students as well as teachers).

The energy that the presenters and conference goers brought was amazing! It was so inspiring to apart of the it. I could not wait to get back into my class, to share this energy and what I learned with my students.

One thing that we have already started doing in class is called Neon Read On. This is a close reading strategy that uses highlighters to help students find important information and summarize what they have highlighted. With the help of black-lights, only the information that students highlight will glow, making it easier for them to summarize the important details. My students love doing this and it is helping them tremendously.

I am truly grateful for this opportunity and I could not have done it without your support.”

    Mrs. Gattis
