Jedi Engineers
Funded Feb 6, 2019Our Engineering minds and skills have been growing since receiving the donation! Students have been working on using the engineering process to design, test, rethink, redesign, and test again. These Keva Bot Maze's have also helped students learn cooperation and teamwork skills.
The students were so excited that donors had chosen to support our classroom. From opening the box to getting out the materials, they have had smiles on their faces.
We will continue to use the Engineering Design Process as we wrap up the school year.”

Jedi Writers Become Authors!
Funded Oct 3, 2017I would like to again thank you for your support of my students. They have been working very hard as writers this year and the supplies that you have donated have helped them to achieve their goals. They are putting their pens to the paper and recently learned about writing like an engineer. We have done an extensive science / writing unit focusing on how to save beaches around the world by stopping erosion. We have designed dunes, reefs, and breakwater structures. The students write up a lab report like a real scientist or engineer and work on including all of their writing skills into their write ups for each structure we build and test.
My students were so grateful and excited when I explained that we had received this grant and were getting supplies to help us with writing. I believe their favorite are the giant sticky notes. During a principal observation, one of my students had to raise their hand and explain to the principal that these were special giant sticky notes that were gifted just for us!
Now that we have concluded our narrative and informational writing units we will move into opinion writing. I can not wait to see what these Jedi writers are able to do.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Rae
