We all know how hard it is to sit still in a chair for an extended amount of time. Schools have traditionally expected young students to do just that! Over the years, I have recognized that the more seating options (on the floor, yoga mats, beanbag chairs) I give my students, the more engaged they are in learning. I am asking for funding to purchase mesh ball chairs, wobble cushions, and resistance bands for seating alternatives for my students. There is a plethora of research that supports student choice and flexible seating. The research shows that students are happier and more engaged in their school day. The results are better grades and a stronger commitment to learning.
