Due to COVID-19, my students will be learning from home until it's safe to return to the classroom. I will be providing my students with synchronous (live, face-to-face) and asynchronous (self-paced) learning every day and I hope to be able to bring the best remote learning experience as possible to my students and their families.
While nothing can truly replace being in the classroom, I want to provide my students with as many of the same opportunities they'd have if we were physically together, such as engaging and interactive lessons, opportunities for collaboration, individualized feedback, and more.
To prepare for this school year, I attended over 20 hours of professional development this summer to learn about innovative tools and strategies to teach students remotely. I am eager to implement the ideas I learned but I need some help securing a few items to make this possible. I am asking for an iPad, a stylus, and a standing laptop cart to be able to enhance my teaching this year. These items will allow me to create and facilitate innovative, multi-modal lessons for my students while I work from all areas in our classroom. (The library, the easel, in close proximity to an anchor chart, etc.) By joining my live Google Meet lessons on two devices, a laptop and an iPad, I can still interact with students from one device while I present my lesson from the second device to maximize engagement. I can also use the iPad and stylus to use interactive apps, demonstrate a skill, record class notes, take virtual field trips, and more!
