I would like to invite you to walk into a classroom in the twenty-first century. As a teacher, I work to reach a diverse group of students, varying in ability, to achieve academic growth. In the twenty-first century, my students are used to having so much technology at their fingertips, that they miss the opportunity to dive into the pages of a book. I feel as though I have the obligation to expand my students knowledge of the world around them through novel studies. I have chosen to read Wonder with my students in the coming school year. Wonder is an amazing book to read with students, because it helps encourage the readers to accept differences in others. This novel study will allow the students to have open discussions about situations in the real world, and the students will be able to grow into more compassionate and understanding individuals.
