  • The Virtual Dilemma

    Funded Feb 8, 2021

Your donations assisted in the purchase of an online learning platform, Brainpop. This program allowed me and my students to deeply dive into numerous topics ranging from US History into Government. The information was simplified to assist our struggling learners, but fun for everyone! I cannot express the thankfulness to you for spending your hard earned dollars on our school here in Alabama. I hope that you keep an eye out for other projects our school is setting up. We have a bright future and we hope that you will have a hand in participating in our growth. Again, thank you and peace be with you!”

The supplies that were donated to my classroom have been used and will continue to be used. My students have used the supplies to complete projects and everyday classwork and homework. I have been able to used the tools to complete anchor charts to better supply my students with understanding. My students have created a project that included them drawing or building a 3d model of a economic topic or US History topic.

Students were very happy to see that their classroom now has the materials necessary to make their experience in my classroom much better. Students are happy to be able to draw and color without having to borrow materials from another teacher. We now have easy access to almost everything we need.

I am planning to have my students complete some more projects this 9 weeks to help them understand and comprehend the material easier.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Nelson

The supplies being requested for donation to my classroom are items that are necessary for everyday learning. The pencils and sharpener are materials that my students have problems with each day. The students either forget the materials or cannot afford to buy the materials. Currently, my students are using hand sharpeners, the little baby ones. they are going dull very quickly. We need the requested X-ACTO SchoolPro electric pencil sharpener. I believe that a healthy and well supplied classroom can provide students a heightened opportunity to better their education. For this reason, we need hand toilet paper and Clorox disinfecting wipes to keep sickness at bay and attendance up. This, in turn, will have the desired outcome of increased grades and building of immune systems. The copy paper will provide more copies for the students to take home and study without the worry of not having enough paper to make copies. Many students in this county do not have access to a printer or internet at home. I intend for my students to increase their knowledge by creating projects; however, to complete these projects supplies like Sharpie markers, Crayola colored pencils, and poster board are necessary for success. This could include a project of WW1 or an important inventor in history.
