  • Great Minds Gather!

    Funded Nov 30, 2023

This was one of the best projects we had funded this year. This rug is the heart of our room. We use this rug for morning meetings, read alouds, turn and talks, dance parties, independent work, resting before we go home, etc.

This rug has brought our class together more then ever. The look on their faces when they saw the rug for the first time was priceless. They laid on the rug as if they were making snow angels.

It is amazing how something as simple as a rug can change the dynamics of a classroom.”

  • Math Equals Knowledge

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

This donation was a game changer. The children enjoy the hands on materials, while working with a peer. These are the things that we aim for in our kindergarten classes, socializing and hands on materials to enhance fine motor development.

During a small group in math a student recognized the shape rectangle. They said, "Mrs. Falcón look a rectangle just like the board and my name tag."

That was a proud moment for me, knowing that my student associated the shape with their environment was priceless.”

  • Snacks=Brain Power

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

This project and your donations has impacted our students tremendously. We love to enjoy cozy reading time in our camping center with snacks, celebrate birthdays and provide a not so easy to obtain snack for lunch and afterschool.

Many of our students do not have the luxury of obtaining these simple childhood snacks. Their economic status makes it difficult to enjoy these simple things. The students find great joy in being able to go in a chose their own lunch or afterschool snack. Not worrying that they do not have anything for their snack time in which they social and enjoy each others company.

With this funding we can open an array of possibilities. I would like to enrich their love of reading by creating a Reading Camp. The Reading Camp will be a place where the children can enjoy independent reading as well as shared partner reading. All the while sitting in a camp site. The children can sit on outdoor camping chair, or they can pull up a log pillow. Either way they choose by bring the outdoors inside, this reading camp can make reading more enjoyable and sustain a lifelong love of reading. Living in the city it is rare that you can experience the outdoors. With this project the children can enjoy the outdoors while engaging in meaningful and deep rooted discussion about the books that are reading.
