  • Readers Create the World

    Funded Jul 15, 2024

Our scholastic magazines are a huge hit with our young readers. The vibrant colors and easy to read text have help not only the students with making self to text connects, but to also make self to world connections.

This magazines have been a huge help in connecting families. The videos, extra worksheets have all been instrumental in increasing confidence, in increasing language and increasing social emotional connections with peers.

Our learners are visual learners, the videos help to bring the information to life and fun.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Falcón

  • Recess Time: FunTime

    Funded May 17, 2024

Recess and indoor play (when it rained) were so much fun this year. The students learned the importance of team work, taking turns and having fun.

The wooden connect four game, the catch a ball set, the corn hole sent and the hola hoops were new games to all our students. It was great to teach them something from our childhood.

The Hola Hoops were the biggest hits. We had hola hoop contest with our classes and teachers. It was great to see the smiles on their faces, especially when they were trying to teach a teacher how to use the hoop.

    We had a blast.”

  • Cold, Cold Go Away!!!

    Funded May 7, 2024

This donation was extremely important for us. As a kindergarten teacher, our little ones love to carry germs with them. They are having so much fun, that sometimes cleaning up after yourself takes a back seat.

Your donation help us with a few lessons on the importance of cleanliness and why germs are bad. It helped us to set up a cleaning routine in the classroom.

In addition, the students helped their younger counterparts (pre-k) in understanding why germs are bad. Thank you for helping us turn our Kindergarteners into germ experts.”

  • 100th Day, Hooray!

    Funded Apr 16, 2024

100th day of school rules!!! Especially for a Kindergartener. The students have a sense of accomplishment. What a fun activity this was, with all the materials that you have so generously donated to us. The children had a blast on the 100th day of school. Not only dressing up as if they were a 100 years old, but by creating with the various materials that this donation came with.

They proudly displayed their creations for the entire school to see during our 100th day celebration walk through. The students explained their creations and why the number 100 is so important to them.

    Thank you again.”

  • Bilingual Books Bring Joy

    Funded Dec 29, 2023

This project was definitely one of my favorites. The look on our students faces when they had access to bilingual books was PHENOMENAL!!!!

Seeing people that look like you in books, reading about books that share your traditions, teaching your non spanish speaking friends new words, is PRICELESS.

The connection that these books have brought to our class through whole group, small group, shared time and independent reading has set up our students for great success in growing a love of reading.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Falcón

  • iPad Stands for Little Hands

    Funded Dec 29, 2023

Thank you very much for your generous donation.

These iPad stands have made it much easier for our little ones to handle their ipads during small group work and assessment time.

The easy of having the iPads on the stand helps the students to concentrate better on their work instead of managing the ipads.

It is the little things that we work on to make their learning better and fun. The students themselves ask for the stand knowing that we have manage to think of them and provide them with tools to help them grow.”

  • Rain Rain Go Away!!

    Funded Dec 29, 2023

Thank you very much for your incredible donation. The umbrellas and rain coats have arrived just in time for us to distribute with our cold and rainy weather.

In addition, we have a unit of study dedicated to the weather. With this rain gear, the children will be able to go outside during the rain to record, observe, and document weather patterns.

The umbrellas are clear, this helps with viewing the sky and observing rain fall, clouds movement and seeing rain drops. We truly appreciate your support.”

This year has been very different. We have an influx of students from other countries. We have tried to provide more visuals, more schedules, more books to take home in color. More center choices in color.

We want to make their first experience in an American school one they won't forget. As odd as it sounds, this donation is doing just that.

With this funding we can open an array of possibilities. I would like to enrich their love of reading by creating a Reading Camp. The Reading Camp will be a place where the children can enjoy independent reading as well as shared partner reading. All the while sitting in a camp site. The children can sit on outdoor camping chair, or they can pull up a log pillow. Either way they choose by bring the outdoors inside, this reading camp can make reading more enjoyable and sustain a lifelong love of reading. Living in the city it is rare that you can experience the outdoors. With this project the children can enjoy the outdoors while engaging in meaningful and deep rooted discussion about the books that are reading.
