With the help of the study books, my students were able to explore primary sources, detailed accounts of key events, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the historical context. They utilized the books to research and create detailed timelines, biographical sketches of important figures, and essays that provided critical insights into the causes and consequences of the American Revolution. The books served as invaluable companions, offering students a rich tapestry of historical knowledge to draw upon. Witnessing their engagement and the depth of their analysis during this project was truly inspiring.

  • STEAMing Our Way Through 5th

    Thank you for your generous contribution and source of full funding of our Donors Choose project: Steaming Our Way Through 5th. With your dedication to technology in education, our classroom was able to receive a laptop and carrying case. This addition to our learning environment has been able to transform lessons and engagement with focuses on science and technology. We are a classroom of active learners who, through your donation, now have the opportunity to fully take advantage of resources.

    The technology has helped students learn by providing them access to 21st century learning materials. When students are using the technology as a supportive tool of communication, they are able to take on a more active role in their learning. Student-driven lessons have been compiled with consideration to differing accommodations, needs and learning styles. Instead of passive engagement, students are able to multiply their impact of learning through research they are able to generate. Students are able to complete experimental designs, analyze data, and promote awareness, thus making their learning practical to their real-world experiences.

    Technology use has allowed many more students to become active thinkers. The students have taken on a better sense of ownership and responsibility while promoting cyber safety. What is most exciting, the laptop allows for simultaneous research enhancements with kid-friendly usage and capabilities. The students have been amazed to be able to find information on their own by taking ownership of their learning, executing the skills that go beyond typical teacher-led lessons.

    Through the course of having the new technology, there has been a transformation in student excitably and engagements. Students are eager to reach beyond surface level understanding. Technology helps to grasp a deeper understanding and more thorough depth of knowledge. Students who speak primary languages other than English now have access to a richer learning experience suitable for them. Learners who live without Internet access now have ability to close achievement gaps. Students that require supports and accommodated learning can now become more independent. I am dedicated, as an educator, to provide my students with STEM activities that encourages them to excel in new fields and to reach new heights.
