  • Art and Books

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

I requested books that will aid in my teaching of art, with lessons that are imbedded with literature and history. I read some quality children's literature to do this.

As a teacher, I find that arts integrations is an important part of arts education.

To do my part, I not only teach my artists about artists, but also core subjects. To aid in imbedding lessons of literature and history, I need books as an aid to teach from.

Plus, children's books are filled with beautiful illustrations, another type of art my young artists can learn from.

These books have added so much rich literature to our classroom. Thank you for supporting this project. What a blessing!”

We made posters and flyers to promote our literacy night and hang them up within the community. The whole community was invited. We sought to create a supportive and engaging reading environment for my students within their homes where literacy is promoted within the community .Getting students and community involved in literacy activities helped emphasize the importance of of reading. We wanted to see the community involved and for literacy to be a positive experience. This initiative aligned with our goals to increase community involvement while promoting literacy. It was an enriching and positive experience for the community and student It truly takes a village to educate a child. Thank you so much for supporting this project and helping to make a difference. • Teaching Literacy

    Funded Jan 22, 2024

I am writing to you today to say thank you for helping to make this project a reality. As a dedicated teacher starting a new school reading intervention program, I am thrilled to be spearheading a reading intervention program that aims to empower our students and enhance their literacy skills.

With the launch of this program, I envision a classroom where every student can flourish as a confident reader.

However, to make this vision a reality, I am in need of essential items that will significantly impact our learning environment. These materials include materials needed to successfully implement the training I completed through IMSE. It is a morphology approach and based on Orton Gillingham. These interactive aids are tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students.

This project is for a smart pen. I strongly feel it will help my students to be successful in the general education curriculum. In these classes it is hard for my students to keep up with note taking. For example, they can go to the regular education classroom for science, and listen to the lesson. Then, go back to the classroom and have it transcribed on the IPad. They will also have it recorded to play back to study. This will cause the student less anxiety and free the child up to listen and learn. Therefore, my students do not have good notes and fall behind. This pen will record the teacher's voice and the student can have it to play back and help study. It also will transcribe it on the computer. This could make all the difference.
