  • Learning Virtually

    Funded Jan 29, 2021

Distancing learning has been very difficult for my students to practice their reading skills. These sandpaper letters would be a great help in teaching my students their letters. I will send home packets with the letters They will be learning while having fun. These are the things my students will remember. The number rod stands will be use to organize and store the red rods and number rods so students can use them easily. Thank you for making this project a reality. Together we can make a difference.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mcconnell

  • Literacy at Its Best

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

I will learn how to provide targeted, intensive reading interventions that reflect the principles and practices of the Orton-Gillingham Structured Literacy program designed for individual and small groups of students.

This professional development will provide me with valuable feedback so that I am able to effectively teach countless struggling readers.

My students and I will greatly benefit from the one-on-one observations and expert guidance from the Orton-Gillingham reading specialists throughout the year, and as the IMSE website states: "Certification is ideal for educators working with third, fourth and fifth-grade students as well as older students who are below level in reading, spelling, or vocabulary." This professional development is only offered once before January.”

  • Take Me Home

    Funded Jan 26, 2021

My students are in need of early learning manipulatives and materials to use while they are participating in remote learning through classroom and individual Zoom meetings. The at-home early learning materials kits that you have provided incudes construction paper, glue, writing materials, and learning manipulatives to enhance their learning at home. These at-home learning kits will help make it easier for parents to help their children learn at home. THank you for making this possible. Together we can make a difference.”

  • Scratching My Path to Learning

    Funded Dec 16, 2020

I attended the session called Scratch and Scratch Jr. This was an excellent opportunity for me to gain knowledge and skill to teach my students about coding and robotics. It will help me to bring new innovative ideas and methods into my classroom. I have learned to code my sprites and add a background. I now how a wealth of knowledge to use and lesson plans. My student will love this! Thank you for your generous donations and making this possible. Together the future looks bright. Again, thank you so much.”

  • We Will Learn

    Funded Jan 18, 2021

As a special education teacher, our lessons drive on individualized academic goals which often need additional resources. An amazing resource for many teachers is Teachers Pay Teachers, or TPT, to help meet the individual needs of many students in our classrooms.

The packets I download will be used daily to practice math and literacy skills via distance learning.

These skills will help my students become stewards of their money. TPT is a magical resource that will help my students learn new things in a fun way.”

  • Research and Distance Learning

    Funded Jan 10, 2021

Thank you for your generous donations and support. The MacBook will provide my students with accurate, instant feedback. The MacBook will allow me to create Google Docs, Google Slides, and PDFs for my students to facilitate their learning process. My students need efficient feedback on their virtual learning. It will also allow us to do research and look up current events as they happen. It will help foster independence. The MacBook will help make this possible. Together we can make a difference. • iCan Do This

    Funded Jan 10, 2021

Thank you for your support and donations. You have made this project a reality. The iPad with a keyboard will help my students to be successful in the general education curriculum. In these classes, it is hard for my students to keep up with note-taking. For example, they can go to the regular education classroom for science and listen to the lesson. Then, go back to the classroom and have it transcribed on the iPad. They will also have it recorded to play back to study. This will cause the student less anxiety and free the child up to listen and learn. Therefore, my students do not have good notes and fall behind in subject areas such as math and science. Again, thank you very much.”

  • Reading Behaviors

    Funded Jan 8, 2021

Thank you for making this project a reality with your generous donations. The Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment Systems provide teachers with precise tools and texts to observe and quantify specific reading behaviors, and then interpret and use that data to plan meaningful instruction.

Using the Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment Systems to determine student's independent and instructional reading levels, teachers are able to observe student reading behaviors one-on-one, engage in comprehension conversations that go beyond retelling, and make informed decisions that connect assessment to instruction. Together we can make a difference.”

  • Literacy Everywhere

    Funded Jan 8, 2021

Thank you for donating to my project and helping to make it a reality. The books will be used as read alouds during the day to enhance our literacy and language skills. The containers, Velcro and index cards will be used to store and organize our sight words and picture cards, which are used for our picture schedule. The picture cards and schedule are very important in my classroom. They allow my students to orally express themselves and become independent. Using the picture cards and schedule allows my students to express their needs and wants. The pictures and picture schedule are attached using Velcro. The surfer bus and accessories will be used in our role play and doll center, which helps my students to use language in a natural setting. Again, thank you so much.”

This project is for a smart pen. I strongly feel it will help my students to be successful in the general education curriculum. In these classes it is hard for my students to keep up with note taking. For example, they can go to the regular education classroom for science, and listen to the lesson. Then, go back to the classroom and have it transcribed on the IPad. They will also have it recorded to play back to study. This will cause the student less anxiety and free the child up to listen and learn. Therefore, my students do not have good notes and fall behind. This pen will record the teacher's voice and the student can have it to play back and help study. It also will transcribe it on the computer. This could make all the difference.
